Biographical history

Helen Collinson, 1934-1998, the daughter of H.G. and Hilda Glyde, and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. She worked for many years as a curator at the University of Alberta, including the Ring House Gallery, where she developed many exhibitions. She was a driving force in the cultural community in Edmonton and was a member and director of many organizations including the Edmonton Film Society, Edmonton Professional Arts Council, Alberta Association of Art Galleries, Western Canada Art Gallery Association, Canadian Museums Association, and the Alberta Art Foundation. She also consulted for the organization Heritage Interpretation International in Papua New Guinea, Japan and Montserrat. For further information see Catherine C.
