Biographical history

The High River Agricultural Society was incorporated in 1909 under the provisions of the Alberta Agricultural Societies Ordinance. The first meeting was held on August 7, 1909, A.H. Eckford was named president, and a two day fair was held in October. The society held annual fairs from 1909 to 1924, then annual horse shows from 1925 to 1936. It was dormant from 1937 to 1943. After its revival in 1944 it sponsored calf and grain clubs. In 1959 it began to hold the Little Britches Rodeo.

The fonds consists of minute book (1909-1965), mortgage bond (1910), and Little Britches Rodeo poster (1961).
