Biographical history

In 1941 the Horn Hill Community Club was formed as a war service league. The group met once a month, and sent packages to the men from the Horn Hill area serving overseas during the war. The group also held dances and operated booths at local auction sales and fairs to raise money. In 1957, after accumulating a substantial sum, the Horn Hill Community Club purchased the closed Horn Hill School building. At some point before 1960, the group voted to disband. Past presidents of the club include: Mrs. Margaret Parker (1941-1943), Mrs. Fred Vincent (1943-1944), Mrs. J. Oldford (1944-1945), Mrs. H. Domeney (1945-1946), and Mrs. Parcels (1946).
