Biographical history
Hudson's Bay Marland Oil Company was established in 1926 by the Hudson's Bay Company and Marland Oil Company. The original aim was to drill on the freehold lands held by the Bay throughout western Canada. The name was later changed to Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Company. Among the companies in which the firm had an interest were Consolidated Mic Mac Oils, Security Freehold Petroleums Ltd., Rangeland Pipe Line, and Aurora Pipeline. In 1973 the company acquired 35% of Siebens Oil and Gas (sold in 1979) and in 1980 bought Roxy Petroleum. HBOG was sold to Dome Petroleum in 1982.
