Biographical history

The Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire is a women's organization founded in Montreal in 1900 to promote ties with Britain and the Commonwealth. The Athabasca Chapter of the IODE was organized in 1940. It served as a women's social and fund-raising group for the community. The Athabasca Chapter disbanded in 1949.
