Fonds consists of the records created and compiled by Ina Dennekamp in connection with her work on the history of Canadian women composers. The bulk of the material was assembled between 1988 and 1992 either as part of a Canada Council Explorations Grant project entitled The History of Canadian Women Composers or as part of her weekly radio program Women of Note. Additional materials may relate to her role in the founding and administration of the BC Chapter of the Association of Canadian Women Composers (ACWC) and Women in Music (WIM). The fonds includes correspondence, notes, periodicals and other publications, course materials, interviews (transcripts and sound recordings), performance recordings, broadcast recordings, a collection of scores and sheet music, and a collection of commercial recordings.
File consists of material relating to "Women and Music" and its activities, such as newsclippings relating to performances, press releases, drafts (including letters), and other promotional material.
File consists of "WIM: Society for Women in Music, A Brief History", a list of founding members, WIM's mission statement, a list of purposes/goals, a statement of WIM's activities, incorporation documents, and WIM's constitution.
File consists of two 10 inch reel to reel tapes containing a performance from Artemis Trio and A.K. Coope, Includes performances of pieces by various Canadian composers: Elizabeth Raum, Anne-Katherine Coope, Melissa Hul, Nancy Telfer, Anita Sleeman, Ramona Luengen, Shulamit Ran, and Clara Schumann. The file also includes a programme and biographies of the composers.
Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence concerning Ina Dennekamp research efforts on Canadian women composers. The bulk of the material relates to arrangements for composer interviews in connection with Dennekamp's radio program, "Women of Note", and her research project entitled "The History of Canadian Women Composers". The series also includes correspondence regarding the donation of Ina Dennekamp's records to the Association of Canadian Women Composers' archive and the subsequent transfer of those records to The Banff Centre.
