The fonds consists of Frank Kozar’s personal papers, including his memoirs and photographs and documents from the Kozar family, and some letters from young men overseas during WWII; educational records for Frank progressing from Elementary School to the University of Alberta; material relating to Frank’s career with the Strawberry School Division, Grande Prairie Regional College, Grant MacEwan College and the University of Alberta; general files regarding the Royal Canadian Army Cadets of Canada and specific files on the Cadet Corps Frank worked with over the years; and a large collection of slides and photographs from Frank’s hobby of photography. There is also a few miscellaneous paper artifacts preserved by Dr. Kozar over his lifetime, including a 1949 programme for the Farm Young People’s Conference in Edmonton; a 1955 Commencement program for Misericordia Hospital; and a 1957 booklet of the Constitution and By-Laws for the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion.

The series consists of Frank Kozar’s Memoirs, From a Log Shack to the Halls of Academia; his professional and volunteer resumes; immigration documents belonging to Franz Kozar Sr. and Anna Zinky Kozar; unidentified photographs of Frank’s family, friends, and a school at which he taught; some World War II ration booklets and letters from friends in the service; and a collection of news clippings and articles about Dr. Kozar and other family members.

The sub-series consists of a small German diary and cash book belonging to Josef Kozar titled Jennersdorf 1923 which includes a few immigration documents and postcards from 1927; a 1930 German book of Catholic religious readings belonging to Anna Kozar; Franz and Anna’s Immigration and Citizenship papers.

The sub-series consists of 25 negatives and 25 photographs, a few of which overlap. The subjects are unidentified but thought to be of the Kozar family and the farm at Sunnybrook, Frank’s friends around the time of the second World War, and activities at Capbillion School, with Frank as the supervisor. There are also 5 slides of scenes of the farm, and 33 slides of a trip made to visit the Austrian birthplace of the Kozars in 1977.
