Wellington Cafe.

Wellington Cafe on the west side of Main Street between 49 Avenue and 50 Avenue. Photo also shows other businesses on the block including, from left: William Thiel Shoe & Harness Shop, Mac's Cafe, J. E. Sheppard Hardware. Proprietor Hong Yee and his father opened the cafe in 1934. The building was demolished and re-opened as the Rainbow Grill in 1947. Hong Yee's cousin Kai Yee took it over in 1977.

Buildings on Main Street (L to R) are Ching Yee's Cafe, Parker's Meat Market, space where Bowser would build ice cream parlour, Morris & Taylor Hardware, Gallas Shoe Repair, pool hall and barber shop, Blades Restaurant, Karr Bros. Store. Board of Trade bulletin board in foreground (built in 1916). By 1919 all the lots in Block 2 had been built up.

Vic's Garage, Millet, Alberta.

Service station owned by Vic Nordquist situated on the northwest corner of the intersection of 48 Avenue & 50 Street. The building, measuring 50' x 80', was built in 1928 of brick. Vic Nordquist built it after his former garage burned down in 1927. He operated the garage until he died in 1963. His son, Jamie, then operated it with the help of his sister, Alma, for many years.

Group of men posing in front of Vic's Garage. The Mitchell Block can be seen at the left. Vic's Garage was started by Vic Nordquist in 1922. It located on the east side of Main Street (50 Street). The buildings were destroyed by fire in October 1927. The man second from the left is Herman Warnke.
