Fonds consists of the sound recordings compiled by the host of Heritage Fireside Chats, Brian Bindon. Recordings conducted at Num-Ti-Jah Lodge relate to 3 topics: Mountaineers of the Canadian Rockies and include interviews with Chic Scott, Barry Blanchard, and Kevin Doyle; Art and Spirit of Place includes interviews with Lisa Christensen, Neil Swanson, and Craig Richards; Warden Heritage discusses the horseback patrol system, Ya-Ha-Tinda, backcountry district system, and women wardens and silent partners. Recordings conducted at Hawks Nest Ranch consist of Andy Russell stories. Readings from Close Calls on High Walls continues the Warden Heritage subject at the home of Mike Schintz; the recordings Wolverine at Skoki and other stories are discussed at Ken Jones' home in Nanton, Alberta. Also included in the fonds are textual records consisting of Bindon's handwritten notes of open discussions of the chats.

Fonds consists of Chic Scott's interviews with members of the 1982 Canadian Mount Everest Expedition and opposition expedition member, 1982; interviews with other Canadian mountaineers, 1988-1990; CBC Radio interview of Chic Scott by Patricia Naylor for the "Calgary Eyeopener," ca.1990; personal incoming letters, 1988-1991; and file of clippings re Everest 1982 expedition. Everest interviews are with Laurie Skreslet, Bill March and Al Burgess (typewritten transcripts included); and Jon Jones, opposition Everest mountaineer. Other interviewees are Don Vockeroth, Charlie Locke, Bob Hind, Glen Boles and Ken Jones. Recordings were made by Scott for interest and documentary value. The Vockeroth interview was used for "The Passing of an Era" in Alpinism v. 1, 1988. Letters are from friends and acquaintances and pertain to mountaineering, writing, publishing etc. Fonds also consist of records generated in the process of researching and writing "Pushing the Limits: The Story of Canadian Mountaineering" Rocky Mountain Books, 2000 and include 90 interviews (video and audio) 1996-1998, photographs (scanned images), research notes, manuscript, copies of documents and articles, chronology, lists and transcripts, and biography files.
