The collection consists of copied and original material which documents the life of Joe Boyle and the work of the Joe Boyle Repatriation Committee and other celebrations planned by the Oxford Historical Society to honour their local hero. The textual records include 34 files of textual records, covering the years ca. 1897-1984, created by the committee (84/78); a letter written by Edwin Bennett June 22, 1981 explaining the committee's purpose (81/114); biographical material about Joe Boyle, including a script used by author Len Taylor for a 1973 presentation (82/243); and a file about his daughter Flora Boyle Frisch (85/43). The photographs include a variety of images of Joe Boyle and his family and friends from 1897-ca. 1920; his daughter Flora visiting the Klondike Gold Fields and Dredge #4 in 1984; and the parade and interment ceremony on Joe Boyle Day, June 29, 1983 in Woodstock, Ontario (84/78). Also included are photographs of Dawson City, 1898 or 1899 (81/114) and 1914 (79/41); a portrait of Joe Boyle in 1923 and images of his grave in the English cemetery (82/243); and views of his new grave (85/43). Also included in the collection are two sound recordings of interviews conducted with Flora Boyle Frisch in 1983 (84/78). The video recording is an excerpt from a Global Television news story on the repatriation, as well as a home-movie of the parade and ceremony on Col. Joe Boyle Day, 1983 (87/7).
