Randall Adams fonds

The fonds consists of 35mm slides created for the “Alberta Rural Cemeteries Photographic Project.” This project was funded by a grant from the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation in 1992 and completed over the course of 1993-1994. Randall Adams travelled across Alberta to document rural cemeteries, taking photographs of approximately 300 cemetery sites.

Fonds illustrates the planning and design of the Riddell Library and Learning Centre, which was led by Shepstone as University Librarian. The fonds consists of three series which documents furniture planning, architectural, and electrical drawings, new library planning, and administration for the Riddell Library and Learning Centre and the Mount Royal College Library. Other records document architecture firm's planning for the RLLC and Mount Royal College planning. The fonds also contains publications, memorabilia, and artwork.

Fonds documents Pat Roome's work on projects commemorating Mount Royal's centennial in 2010, including: the establishment of the Military Memorial Bursaries, a centennial mural, time capsule, postage stamp issue, the design of a Mount Royal tartan, and the research and publication of institutional history books. Fonds also documents Roome's other work as the first director of what became the Mount Royal Archives and Special Collections. The fonds contains centennial project summaries, event planning notes and documents, research notes, design mock-ups, photo inventories, and correspondence.

The fonds contains 4 series. The Ukrainian Easter egg series has 47 colour slides of a demonstration of creating Ukrainian Easter Eggs. The Oral Histories series contains taped interviews from local Peace River residents. The Murray Cook series has buildings, activities and people from the Peace River region, all taken in the fall of 1975 by Murray Cook, then curator of the Peace River Centennial Museum [now Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre]. The “From Peace River Crossing to Peace River” series contains 202 slides put together as a slideshow to give the history of Peace River.

Fonds illustrates the construction of Mount Royal College's Lincoln Park Campus, which Jim Cameron was contacted as a photographer to document. Fonds consists of negatives, slides, photographic prints, and albums which primarily document the weekly progress of the project, as well as some related ceremonies and events, from the groundbreaking to the grand opening of the completed building. Most materials relate to the Lincoln Park Campus, although there are several photos of the original downtown campus, as well as aerial photos of the Churchill Park Campus (now Bow Valley College), and Old Sun College in Siksika, Alberta. Fonds is made up of three series: negatives and slides, prints, and photo albums.
