Fast Forward Weekly (FFWD) collection

Collection consists of a near-complete print run of Fast Forward Weekly (FFWD), a Calgary-based local news and entertainment weekly newspaper that was published from 1995 to 2015 by Great West Newspapers Limited Partnership. The 934 newspaper issues in the collection are bound in volumes in chronological order. The collection also contains one series of CD and DVDs containing digital photographs, articles, and web page images created by Fast Forward Weekly's staff for the newspaper.

"Fast Forward Weekly (FFWD) was a news and entertainment weekly which provides news, alternative viewpoints, entertainment information, review articles and specialized advertising. It was distributed throughout Calgary, Banff and Canmore. It is owned by Great West Newspapers, LP. With an assessed readership of 70,000 upon a distributed circulation of 30,000, the paper was one of the most widely circulated and well-respected alternative newspapers in Canada."

Association of Canadian Women Composers Collection

The collection consists of records aquired by the Association of Canadian Women Composers archives. The materials, which include musical scores and sheet music, concert programs and flyers, media clippings, and sound recordings, were donated by ACWC members. They document the activities and contributions of women composers in Canada and elsewhere.
Records consist of two series: Composer Files containing materials that relate to a single composer subject, and Other Materials containing records that relate either to multiple composers or to the subject of women composers more generally.

The album largely consists of publicity photographs (many autographed) and programs documenting the activities of the PPCLI Comedy Company and its successor, the Dumbells. Includes a nominal roll (compiled 1968) of all members of the Comedy Company from its formation on 1916 May 16 to its amalgamation with the Dumbells on 1918 Nov 12. Includes materials created 1916-1968. Includes published magazine articles: Jack McLaren, "Mirth and mud", Maclean's Magazine, 1929 Jan.1, Mar. 1, May 15; Alan Murray, "The Dumbells", The Legionary, 1952 May, reprinted 1965 Jan.; Jack McLaren, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Trenches", Weekend Magazine, 1967 Nov 25. Includes a brief by Norman D. Clarke to the Historical Section, Army Headquarters, 1963, protesting the omission of references to the Comedy Company in the official history of the First World War.
