“Metropolis Tokyo - Tokyo Im Rennschritt” : [Hörspiel by Emmanuelle Loubet commissioned by WDR]

Series consists of material relating to Emmanuelle Loubet’s project “Metropolis Tokyo: Tokyo Im Rennschritt (Sound Polaroïd)”. Series includes a graphic score, a live recording of the master tape of the radioplay (Hörspiel) produced for WDR (West German Broadcasting Cologne aka Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln) and digital copies of promotional material.

“Tokyo Sound Postcards” by Rax Karal

Series consists of nine audio cassettes which each have an accompanying image or images. The images are either housed in the cassette case or in a plastic pouch. One cassette has an empty case containing pachinko balls and currency. Another two cassettes have accompanying pillows. The sound postcards are Loubet’s first impressions of Tokyo and feature a mixture of music, ambient sounds and spoken word. The project was produced under Emmanuelle Loubet’s alias Rax Karal at Koenji Studios, Tokyo.

10th Banff International String Quartet Competition

Series consists of material related to the the 10th Banff International String Quartet Competition. It includes audio recordings of quartet performances, the score for the competition's imposed piece (Commedia dell'arte by Ana Sokolovic), promotional material, a video recording from the competition's lecture series, as well as a documentary film about the 2010 competition.

12th Banff International String Quartet Competition

Series consists of material related to the 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition. It includes audio recordings of quartet performances, the score for the competition's imposed piece (String Quartet No. 1 by Zosha Di Castri), promotional material, and video recordings of the competing quartets performing in the Rolston Recital Hall.

"These records cover the early expeditions into the Yellowhead area from 1860 to 1900, including the Overlanders group of settlers and early surveys by the Canadian Pacific Railway to expand the railroad through this area and into western Canada. This series contains newspaper articles, photocopies of books and journal articles, photographs, transcripts of documents, and handwritten notes of commentary and research.

1905 Baseline Survey

The series consists of photographs taken in 1905 when Jim Somerville was a member of Henry Selby's survey crew. Some of the photographs are taken at the 20th base line camp as that was the starting point. The photographs show the environment of the area east of the Smoky River, the activities of his survey crew, and the life of a surveyor. There are also several photographs of buildings in Grouard and Stopping Places in the area.

1910 Peace River Tour series

This series contains 1 photograph album containing pictures taken during Jim Cornwall’s self-financed promotional tour of 18 journalists, writers and academics from Canada and the United States in July and August of 1910.
