Photos

The series consists of black & white and colour photographs, including original photos, copy prints and photo copies, taken or collected by Ian Thomson, of his family and of other residents of Milo and the surrounding area. The series includes many photos that are duplicates of what appear in Thomson’s historical writings.

Also included are the following framed photographs; panorama of Milo’s main street in 1928 (155cm wide x 15cm high); “Old Milo 1920” (46cm wide x 26 cm high); Hamlet of Milo pre-1927 with buildings numbered and identified (44cm side x 37cm high)

Photographs

This series contains 24 negatives taken at various events that members of the Bezanson Community Blooms were involved with. Also included in this series is one photograph showing three members of the Bezanson Community Blooms receiving an award or certificate at the County of Grande Prairie Council Chambers.

1982 Canadian Everest Expedition video and film footage

Series contains video and film footage that falls within two general categories: raw video from the expedition shot by expedition team members, and more commercially-produced press, news, and promotional coverage. Series includes extensive film footage shot on-site in Nepal and on the Everest route throughout the expedition, video versions of the CanEverEx pre and post-expedition presentations including "Everest: The Dream, The Reality", an Air Canada pre-expedition in-flight documentary on Everest, and Everest-related news segments from Canadian and American news outlets.

Grimm Family

This series contains records related to the Grimm family. The material is largely from Rycroft but also Nebraska, Spirit River, and Calgary. The records consist of a family history book, photographs, and other documents depicting family and farm life. This series is divided into the following sub-series: Personal Papers (1800-1980), and Grimm Family Photos (1800-1980).

Vader Family

This series contains records related to the Vader and Scott families. The records consist of approximately 500 photographs and negatives and other textual documents depicting farm and family life as well as the military in WWII. This series has been arranged into four sub-series: Scott Family Photographs ([ca. 1850s]), Personal Papers (1800-1980), Family Photographs(1800-1980), and Jim Vader War Records(1940-1944).

Archaeology and early history of Yellowhead County

These records cover the history of the Yellowhead County region, including modern archaeological digs, details of voyageur expeditions through the area, and Aboriginal settlement. This series contains newspaper articles, photocopies of books and journal articles, photographs, handwritten notes of commentary and research, and a text essay on DVD.

Historical Tours and Presentations
