"Turn Back the Pages"

Turn Back the Pages: Clairmont 1908-1992 is the history of the community of Clairmont (originally called Twin Lakes) written by Beth Sheehan in 1992. The book contains the history of the hamlet/village and its schools, churches, organizations and sports, illustrated by stories of local characters, maps, photographs, art work and clippings from the Clairmont Independent newspaper.The sub-series consists of the research files (including people, government, businesses, events) used to create the original book, newsclipping files for Clairmont from 2011-1908, the 1992 manuscript of the book “Turn Back the Pages”, and a file for the update of the book, dated 1999-2005. There is also a 20 page document from the Provincial Archives of Alberta detailing all the records with material about Clairmont in their holdings, a hand-out on How to Prepare a Local History by Hugh Dempsey, and a copy of the published book. The photographs in this sub-series are dated from 1915-2004, and record the changes in the hamlet in almost 90 years. They include early hamlet scenes, farm buildings, schools and children, the Krimmer Mennonite congregation and the cemetery; and the buildings, businesses, homes and street scenes in the town and country, and views from outside of Clairmont as the area became more developed.

180 Royal Canadian Artillery Cadet Corps

The sub series consists of information about 180 RCACC, lists of members in 1991 and 1994, a blank application form and expectations of cadets, correspondence, and Change of Command Forms for Kozar, Colbeck and Parsonage. Also included is the March 1998 issue of Quadrant, the newsletter of The Royal Canadian Artillery, in which the history of 180 RCACC was published. 180 RCACC was affiliated with 20 Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery.

1809 Loyal Edmonton Cadet Corps

The sub series consists of information about 1809 Edmonton, lists of members in 1992 and 1993, correspondence, annual reports, and programmes for events such as Annual Inspections. There is also a Change of Command Certificate dated March 1, 1994 when Captain Kozar relinquished command to Captain A.B. Gaetz. 1809 Edmonton Cadet Corps was affiliated with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.

1988 Winter Olympic Games

Subseries consists of photographs of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games held in Calgary, Alberta from February 13 - 28, 1988. Subseries is arranged according to the events that Victor Post labelled on his materials.

Subseries consists of material relating to programs, summits and residencies run by the Banff New Media Institute (BNMI) in 1995. The files contain agendas, participant biographies, evaluations, reports, audio recordings and various administrative documents.
