Grande Prairie Regional College

The sub-series consists of records of the GPRC Preliminary Design presented by Douglas Cardinal, (1975), Completion of the Auditorium report by Bird Construction (1975), a copy of GPRC Goals (1985), records of the Grande Prairie Regional College Foundation when Clem Collins was President, (1989), records of GPRC's 25th Anniversary Committee, evidence of Muriel's role on the GPRC Board of Governors, of the Collins' support of the Fine Arts Dept. through scholarships (2005-2006), and a copy of them receiving the GPCR "Award of Distinction" in 2004. Also included is a Gary Borstad collection of drawings, a porfolio of GPRC artists' work (1973-1989), and a 1976 GPRC yearbook.

General Files

The sub-series consists of photographs and negatives produced from photographs. The images were gathered from a variety of families and individuals, primarily for use in the various publications produced by the DeBolt and District Pioneer Museum ( "Across the Smoky", "Bridges to the Past", "Edson to Grande Prairie Trail", and "DeBolt Country Club and Agricultural Society 60th Anniversary Book").

The sub-series is divided into two files: General Files - Negatives and General Files - Photographs to reflect how the images were originally maintained. There is some overlap of images between the two files.

World War II Literature

The sub-series consists of literature printed by the Department of National Defence or Canadian Military Headquarters and given to soldiers as educational material. It falls into several categories: general information like a Dutch language dictionary, map reading instructions and protection against VD; military information such as Canadian Army Instructions, military training pamphlets, and precautions to be taken in the event of capture; war-time publications such as “Current Affairs,” “Learn to Use Enemy Weapons” and “War Battle Report;” specific information needed for your army career (in this case machinist), and discharge information.

Studio Portraits

The sub-series consists of various kinds of studio portraits of individuals, couples, families and groups. Some of them include the use of props and uniforms (e.g. sports/work). Most of them are unidentified.

Pioneers of the Peace Portraits

The sub series consists of b & w portraits of individuals associated with the history of the Peace River Country of Alberta: Henry Monkman, Chester Ronning, Euphemia McNaught, Erich Anderson, P.V. Croken, Mr. & Mrs. Max Zimmerman, Mr. & Mrs. D.O. Hanson, Morley Sherk, Scotty Ross, Jack McLean, Otto Kuhn, Father Lane and Father Neil Corbett (and their contemporary Redemptorists), Grant MacEwan, Dr. Andrew Murray, and Robert Guest. These portraits were taken by Frank Kozar during the 1980s, presumably on visits to the Grande Prairie area.

Family Portraits

The sub-series consists of individual portraits, one family portrait, and one gravesite.

Homesteading

The sub-series consists of photographs, slides, negatives, and postcards which show facets of the Falks' homesteading experiences.

Farm Animals

The sub-series consists of slides and negatives showing farm animals.
