Lorraine Fraser fonds

The fonds consists of original photographs, taken by Lorraine Fraser on April 29, 1999, of the Shipyards in Whitehorse before the residents were moved out and the buildings torn down. The most recent tenant in each home was identified by Jim Robb, Don Miller and Ed Jenni, and Yukon Archives staff.

Mabel Moore fonds

The fonds consists of a paper, written by Mabel Moore, that describes how Jim and Mabel Moore, Jim's brother, and an old acquaintance made their way up to Dawson City, Yukon from Skagway, Alaska in 1898.

The fonds consists of photographs and textual records from five accessions. The photographs include: twenty-one negatives of the Alaska Highway from Whitehorse to Alaska including several shots of Whitehorse, ca. 1941 (82/59); nine negatives which depict miscellaneous scenes including a 1905 banquet for mining engineers, the cast in a play, and portraits of women. The negatives were copied from MacBride Museum originals by Loree Stewart in October 1979 for a Yukon Historical and Museums Association project (80/153); seven photographs of the construction of the Alaska Highway, 1942 (82/29); and two b&w photographs which depict Whitehorse and one Barley print of White Pass and Yukon Route Engine #3 (84/85B). The textual records include two bound guest registers from MacBride Museum, 1952-1955 and 1955-1960 (82/489); and one file containing a newspaper clipping on the Alaska Highway, 1942, a copy of a cartoon drawn by Jack Paxton while in the army, and a copy of a letter from Lt. Richard L. Neuberger to Hon. Anthony J. Dimond describing the opening ceremony of the Alaska Highway (82/29).

The fonds consists of copies of films taken by Macleod White in the Atlin, B.C. area, ca. 1950-1970. Footage shows hydraulic mining activity and the scenery around Atlin.

Mary and Oscar Adami fonds

The fonds consists of textual records and photographs created by Mary and Oscar Adami. The textual records include a Quit Claim Deed signing over possession of three buildings, including the Wilkinson Building, at Fort Selkirk from Alex Coward to Oscar Adami, dated November 15, 1946; and a three page letter written by Mary Adami in 1987 to Helene Dobrowolsky of the Yukon Government Heritage Branch describing the Adami's arrival in Fort Selkirk and some of the buildings in the settlement. The photographs were taken at Fort Selkirk in the 1940s and show the Adami family and the Wood and Cameron families. The photographs were copied in 1989.

Mary Davis Moody fonds

The fonds consists of photographs and textual records. The original photographs are assorted sizes and depict Mrs. Moody's stay in Dawson City and Carcross; the students at Chooutla School and St. Paul's Hostel; views of Eagle and Fort Yukon in Alaska; views of Moosehide, Old Crow, Fort Yukon, Rampart House, and Whitehorse in the Yukon; Anglican Church activities; fox farms; and dog teams. Also included are photographs from her visit in 1961. The textual records consist of typescript manuscripts written by Mary Davis Moody, 1938-1974, titled "A New Zealand Bride on the Arctic Circle" (folder 1), "Alaska Re-Visited" and "An Interlude in the Lives of Two Little Eskimos" (folder 2); correspondence between Mrs. Moody and Florence Whyard, Mrs. Whyard's notes of conversations with Mrs. Moody, and a typescript manuscript "A River in the Klondike, the story of a New Zealand Bride in the Canadian North" by Mrs. Moody and told to Mrs. Whyard (folder 3); and newspaper clippings (folder 4).

Mary Easterson fonds

The fonds consists of an unpublished paper, "The Effects of Colonization on the Yukon Indians", written by Mary Easterson for a course at the University of British Columbia. The paper is divided into the following three sections: The Yukon Indians: A Historical Perspective; The Postwar Years in the Yukon Territory: the Alaska Highway and Colonialism and their influence on the Yukon Indian People; and A Historical Examination of Government Policy: Its Relation to the Yukon Indian Land Claims and the Constitutional Process.

Mary Tarbox fonds

The collection consists of five letters written to Mary from Otto Partridge, 1928-1930. He wrote about his life at Ben-My-Chree. The final letter is from Mrs. Partridge telling about Otto's recent death. Also included are two photographs of Otto Partridge as a young cadet.

Maud Case Anderson fonds

The fonds consists of copies of typewritten transcriptions of thirteen letters written by Maud Case to her mother and brother, George Case, while she was travelling to, and living with her father at his mining camp in the Yukon. She describes the steamer trip to Skagway, the train ride to Whitehorse, and the boat trip to Dawson, then her life as cook in the mining camp. She added an epilogue in 1953 to explain the end to her summer, and her trip out from Dawson.
