Peterson papers fonds

This fonds cover Tom Peterson's research into the local history of the Yellowhead County area, including Jasper and Hinton. This collection was first developed by Peterson's stepmother, Constance Peterson (Barton), who was an early historian of the area, and added to over the years during Peterson's long tenure as a local guide and historian. Some of the significant topics represented in this collection are: early occupation and settlement of Yellowhead County, the foundation of Jasper National Park, Canadian Pacific Railway surveys, and Peterson’s various historical tours. The fonds mainly consists of textual material, including newspaper articles, handwritten notes, and photocopies of material that Peterson considered useful for his research, as well as many photographs of various trips around the Hinton-Jasper region.

Tom Roycraft fonds

The fonds consists of some family records and includes correspondence sent to Tom's father, Ernest Roycraft, when he was employed as a Conductor for Canadian National Railway, his Rail Pass, issued by Canadian National Railway, and Certificate of Birth Registration. The fonds also includes a Preface, Itinerary and Assessment for Tom Roycraft, from a course on Para-Rescue he attended in Edmonton in 1950. Also included, is a copy of an article written in the book: "History Of Hinton" by Hazel Hart with personal handwritten note by Tom Roycraft.
