Forrest C. Falk fonds

Harry Tuffill fonds

The fonds consists of photographs, postcards, and a publication from United Grain Growers. Of the 327 photographs, 110 portray surveying in the Peace Country from 1909 to 1911, 5 picture life on the Tuffill homestead, and the remaining 212 are of Mr. Tuffill’s service in WWI and family and photographs from England. There are also 72 postcards from Canada and abroad.

The fonds consists of research files, published copies, and correspondence regarding the planning and writing of five publications: "Across the Smoky," "Edson to Grande Prairie Trail," "DeBolt Country Club & Agricultural Society 60th Anniversary Book," "Sawmills Across the Smoky," and "Bridges to the Past." The fonds also includes records gathered by the Museum Society, for use in their publications and for other purposes, including original letters and documents, paper artefacts, maps, and photographs and negatives.

Bill LeMarquand fonds

The fonds consists of records relating to the LeMarquand family in the Jersey Islands, ships’ records for Bill’s immigration to Canada, papers from his homestead at Thorhild and his farms at Wanham, and news clippings detailing his volunteer career after retirement. The sound recordings include an oral history of Mr. LeMarquand and some communications from the family in the Jersey Islanders. The photographs are of Bill with his first automobile in 1940 and of Bill in retirement, when he received the Volunteer of the Year award.

Mack Prentiss fonds

The fonds consists of a computer disc containing 86 images of the Prentiss and Sheer family, their farm on the shore of Bear Lake, Mack’s activities as a child on the farm, workers and farm activities throughout the seasons, and a few scenes of Grande Prairie. Most of the photographs on the disc have descriptive captions or accompanying notes identifying the people, places and events. There are also 7 photographs relating to the personal life of the Prentiss Family, including Hermit Lake School students, a photograph of Marion and Mack Prentiss, and an aerial photograph of the farm; and some newspaper clippings, mainly from Grande Prairie papers, relating to the Prentiss family and their activities. Topics include agriculture, family and personal life/biography, curling, education and student activities, Job’s Daughters, Masons, and the Grande Prairie Museum.

Alexander Forbes fonds

The fonds consists of records of the planning for and the construction of the Presbyterian churches at Glen Leslie and Bezanson and photographs presumably assembled by Mrs. Forbes relating to their journey to the Peace Country and church and community activities, buildings, and people in the Grande Prairie area.

William Blake fonds

The fonds consists of financial records from his homestead and farm, including mortgage and tax papers from 1923-1937, and cash statements for shipping grain and livestock from the 1920s to the 1940s; a series of booklets mostly on politics and citizenship as well as a booklet of poems and songs about the Peace Country; and a few personal cards and letters, one from a nephew in Ayrshire during World War I, and one from a friend during World War II. A booklet called "A Manual of Citizenship" contains identification information filled out by Bertram Bennett who sailed from Liverpool on the S.S. Astonia in 1928 and settled in Grande Prairie, AB.

The fonds consists of personal papers and photographs from both Eddie Schadeck and Margaret Stevens, mostly from their service in World War II before they were married; photographs of a group of recruits in front of the Quartermasters Stores and the Barracks at Grande Prairie; a collection of army literature, photographs, and postcards about the liberation of Paris and Holland; papers and photographs pertaining to their farm at Wembley after they returned to Alberta.
