Saphonia Serediak fonds

The fonds consists of recipe collections that were assembled by Serediak for her home economics classes. These recipes were compiled over many years and contain annotations by Serediak. There are also certificates, diplomas, and other evidence of Serediak's education and teaching career as well as some records related to Serediak's family history (including a Polish passport and birth certificate of a presumed relative).

Fonds consists of the personal and business records of the Saunders and Dingwall families. The fonds has been divided into the following series: Lieutenant Colonel Bryce Johnston Saunders; Esther Kincaid Saunders; Marjorie Saunders Dingwall; and Robert MacFarlane Dingwall. These series have been further divided into sub-series.

The fonds consists of records created and/or collected by members of the Scott, Bisset, and McPherson families as well as related branches. The records include correspondence, diaries, clerical documents, family photographs, cookbooks, professional writings, and genealogical information. The records relate to such subjects as the domestic and professional lives of women across the 20th century; Albertan legal history; Albertan religious life and history; the evolution of public morality from the late 19th to the 21st centuries; the evolution of etiquette, entertainment, and home economics in the same period; and military records related to both the First and Second World Wars, including Canadian involvement in the armed forces and life on the home-front.

The records consist of histories in French and English about the Saint-Emile Parish of Legal and the Sisters of Charity (Grey Nuns) in Legal, as well as images of Legal, including a tractor, farm machinery, church interiors and exteriors, a log cabin, and lumbering. There are also photographs that depict Aboriginal children at the Blue Quills Residential School of Saint-Paul between 1959 and 1966, and group portraits, snapshots, and depictions of school events and groups such as the Sea Cadets. Some of the subjects are identified and all of these photos are dated.

The fonds consists of a history of the Grey Nuns at Lac St. Anne and St. Albert, and bound volumes which have been organized into the following 5 series: The Annales (a Grey Nuns periodical containing news from missions, lists of personnel and short biographies of deceased members of the congregations); General histories; Works written about the Foundress of the Grey Nuns, Saint Marguerite d'Youville; Biographies of the Superiors General; and Miscellaneous items.

The fonds consists of two booklets, Sisters of St. Martha Golden Anniversary: 50 Years of Service, 1929-1979, and The Mineral Springs Hospital and the Sisters of St. Martha: Fifty Years of Service, 1930-1980 (text by Jon Whyte, assisted by Sister Mary Alberta and Sister Lilian Mandryk of the Hospital's administration); two short articles on the Mineral Springs Hospital; and the program for the 20th Anniversary Homecoming of the Lethbridge Community College School of Nursing (1991). The booklets trace the Order's history and association with St Michael's Hospital School of Nursing, the Lethbridge Community College School of Nursing, and the Mineral Springs Hospital in Banff.

Sonia de Grandmaison fonds

There are also portraits of de Grandmaison with friends and family over a similar time span. The remainder of the photos depict de Grandmaison's sculptures and work studio, including some images of de Grandmaison at work.

The fonds also consists of textual material that includes a history of the Dournovo family from their time in Russia until their immigration to Canada, other genealogical information, programs from de Grandmaison's shows and unveiling ceremonies of her public works, correspondence (including with prominent figures such as Pierre Trudeau and Peter Lougheed), and legal documents such as de Grandmaison's Russian birth certificate, certificate of Canadian citizenship, and passport.
