Smoky Lake collection

The fonds consists of photos that depict members of the Smoky Lake Ukrainian community and the Smoky Lake Board of Trade. The provenance is unknown, but many of the people in the photos are identified, dates are noted on the photos, and some of the photos feature group portraits with identifying signs. Two of the photos are of Ukrainian groups and organizations, one is the Board of Trade Sports Committee, and the last features the four-piece Andrews Orchestra.

Fonds consists of a report entitled Report on Edmonton Interurban Railway Company, written by Maurice Polet, a resume, correspondence, newspaper clippings and a copied newspaper clipping, a transcript of a personal reminiscence, daily journals, poems, and post cards. Fonds also includes negatives, glass plate negatives, and photographs depicting the Polet and Boulenger families and the Boulenger homestead, as well as various people, places, and views, mainly in Alberta, including railroad construction, bridges, and stations, roads, street views, survey parties, machinery, and camps, boats, hunting, automobiles, animals, automobiles, churches, Hudson's Bay Company trading posts, and furniture. Fonds also includes photographs depicting a number of creeks, rapids, rivers, lakes, and mountains.

Marie-Anna Adèle Roy fonds

The fonds consists of the typewritten manuscript of Le rayonnement d'une œuvre dans le nord albertain by Marie-Anna Adèle Roy. The manuscript has 108 pages of text, and 35 photographs and 3 maps illustrating the text. The manuscript is inscribed: "Collège de Gravelbourg, Section historique. En hommage!" It is composed of two parts: one, of 20 pages, with the title "Aux missionnaires et aux pionniers de La-Rivière-La-Paix", which locates the region, explains the origin of its name and tells the settling story of this part of Alberta; the other, called "Tangent", is the history of the village with the same name, founded in 1927, 300 km North-West of Edmonton. The manuscript ends the evocation of pioneers' life with the narrative of the 50th anniversary's ceremonies of the neighbour parishes Fahler, Donnelly and Girouxville on the 23rd of June, 1963.
