Vance family fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of Helene Lagasse and two of her sisters, Annie Vance attending Athabasca Public School [1912], Annie and Ernest Bulman-Fleming, Annie and her children, and Louis Menard and Helene. The genealogy of the Lagasse, Vance and Bulman-Fleming families is incuded as well as Ernest Bulman-Flemings's service records as part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in WWI. The recording includes Gordon and Alan Vance reminiscing with Frank Falconer and Barbara Ashacker in 1983 about Athabasca, teachers, school friends, etc.

The fonds consists of a photograph of Alphonse Senz (1915-1945) who was KIA in Germany, his last letters and death notification; and photographs of five houses in the Parkhurst District : Gosselin, Charles Lynch, the Demonstration Farm, Charles Gahall and Eugene Sale houses. The map is a 1922 contour and trail map of the Parkhurst District Range 21 and 22 W4M. There are also 9 photographs of Parkhurst School taken from c.1917 to 1947 and a photograph of railway ties piled at the siding in Athabasca.

The fonds consists predominantly of records from Kathleen Waddell’s time in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service. They include one menu card for the Christmas Dinner 1943 of HMCS Stadacona and photographs of Kathleen as a Wren (EA-557-1 to EA-557-11).
There are also photographs of the 1915 flood of the North Saskatchewan River taken by Kathleen’s father, Robert Waddell (EA-557-12 to EA-557-14).

The fonds consists predominantly of the records of Florence Jean Cahill, including school and teaching records, memorial card and letters from family. There are also photographs of some members of the Cahill and O’Callaghan families, including Cliff Cahill (a cousin from the United States who was killed in action in France, 1918), Everett Cahill (a cousin in the UK Royal Flying Corps in 1917), and Walter O’Callaghan’s parents, Bridget and Edward O’Callaghan.
