Francis Victor Tanner fonds

The fonds consists of records of Fran's service in WWII including 2 ration books, a public school leaving diplomain 1936 and high school examination results for 1939-1940 as well as one for his brother Donald in 1930, a confirmation certificate in 1936, his career with CFGP and the sports world, and personal papers and photographs. Also included are a Grande Prairie trackmeet first place pin and ribbon, a Sutton R.E.A. third prize ribbon, and a photograph of Fran as a young boy soldier mounted and cut from wood.

Frank Kozar fonds

The fonds consists of Frank Kozar’s personal papers, including his memoirs and photographs and documents from the Kozar family, and some letters from young men overseas during WWII; educational records for Frank progressing from Elementary School to the University of Alberta; material relating to Frank’s career with the Strawberry School Division, Grande Prairie Regional College, Grant MacEwan College and the University of Alberta; general files regarding the Royal Canadian Army Cadets of Canada and specific files on the Cadet Corps Frank worked with over the years; and a large collection of slides and photographs from Frank’s hobby of photography. There is also a few miscellaneous paper artifacts preserved by Dr. Kozar over his lifetime, including a 1949 programme for the Farm Young People’s Conference in Edmonton; a 1955 Commencement program for Misericordia Hospital; and a 1957 booklet of the Constitution and By-Laws for the Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion.

Gabriel Basly fonds

The fonds consists of military papers, photographs and postcards from Mr. Basly’s time in the French military; leases and records concerning his farm; two photographs of him after the war; and papers detailing his relationship with Veteran’s Affairs. There is also a paper written by Paulette Hrychiw, based on the papers in his collection and supplemental research, detailing his movements with the French Army and her memories of Uncle Gaby, with whom they lived from 1939 to the 1960s.

The fonds consists of WWI records: a Tally Book (1917), a Pay Book ; WWII records: a ration book, a pupil’s war savings pass book belonging to his son Alton, and a letter from his son Henry, from France before he was killed; a farm record and reference guide (1939-40), a Remembrance Day Service program, a Masonic Lodge ballot, licences and certificates, bills and receipts, insurance policy, postcards, tickets, and miscellaneous correspondence. Also includes membership card and booklet for the Monkman Pass Highway Association, and a Liberyman's License for his snow plane taxi and ambulance.

Harry Tuffill fonds

The fonds consists of photographs, postcards, and a publication from United Grain Growers. Of the 327 photographs, 110 portray surveying in the Peace Country from 1909 to 1911, 5 picture life on the Tuffill homestead, and the remaining 212 are of Mr. Tuffill’s service in WWI and family and photographs from England. There are also 72 postcards from Canada and abroad.

Jack & Dorothy Potts fonds

The photographs include snapshots of the corps at the railway station and with the all-terrrain vehicles used in the “Muskox” Expedition; group photos of the corps’ hockey and baseball teams, and one of them with their families on an outing at Lake Saskatoon; views of the town of Grande Prairie; and personal photographs of Mrs. Potts and their first home above the Beauty Parlour.

The fonds consists of 6 photographs (4 relating to his RCAF service, 1943), 3 certificates congratulating Jack and his wife Vera on their fiftieth wedding anniversary, a CD copy of an interview Jack conducted with J.B. Oliver, a copy of a school project written by Joan (Oliver) Little on the history of CFGP, and a newspaper column "Jottings from Alberta" for which Jack was the correspondent. An accrual consists of a receipt for Norman Soars for a birth certificate (1916), high school examination results, records relating to Jack's service during WWII in the Royal Canadian Air Force including a cerificate ofappointment as Pilot Officer in 1944 and a Central Mortgage and Housing report (1957); 4 scripts, 1 appears to be a speech and a collection of jokes and newsarticles, a booklet "Alberta Folklore Quarterly" and 7 crests related to curling and 3 from CFGP. A further accrual included digital copies of recordings of Jack presenting "Tapestry of Christmas" broadcasts on CFGP.

Vera's documents include records as a student in grade 6,a grade 8 Public School Leaving Diploma, a Elementary Certificate from St. Martin's House, Toronto, for Pitman's Shorthand (1936), and one from Pitman House, Toronto where she qualified for Stage 2 Pitman Shorthand (1937) and certificates from Grande Prairie Business College qualifying for Intermediate Typing and Advanced Typing (1937), a certificate of baptism (1920), a confirmation certificate (1932) and a crest from the Grande Prairie Ladies Curling Champions.
