D. W. Patterson family fonds

The fonds consist of D.W. Patterson’s memoirs,1956, (original and a copy) and a short story, Rose Patterson’s memoirs, Dorothy Hall’s personal record, the document admitting D.W. Patterson to the Law Society of Alberta, 1914, a program for the visit of the Earl of Bessborough in 1933, newsclippings concerning the death of Judge Sissons and appointment of Donald as Assistant Chief Judge, 4 portraits, a Women's Institute album of photographs, and several scanned copies of family photos, and miscellaneous papers and letters.

Edward Heller fonds

The fonds consists of a copy of a handwritten memoir of his WW1 experiences, a scanned postcard photograph of Edward Heller, a framed print of Vimy Ridge, and 2 framed copies of photographs of WW1 trenches. An accrual consists of a soldier training certificate (1916), a copy of his attestation papers and his application in 1919 for a Soldier Settlement Grant.

Marion Hill fonds

The fonds consists of five photograph albums documenting the life of Marion Hill, including her childhood in Beaverlodge and White Rock, B.C.; her life as a young adult in Beaverlodge, White Rock and Victoria; her teaching career in Beaverlodge and Victoria; and her life as an Navy WREN from 1944-1946. The papers include a series of Grade 9 High School Entrance examinations in mathematics, science, health education, english language and literature, and general knowledge; and brochures from musical and dramatic events from 1975-1979 which were preserved by her daughter.

Martha Jensen, RCAF, WD

The fonds consists of ten photographs relating to Martha Jensen's career in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Women's Division. They include two of her in uniform, six taken at Linton Air Base, and two of the work of demobilization.

Ray Menard Alaska Highway collection

The fonds consists of 92 photographs taken during the time Ray Menard worked as a mechanic and machinist on the construcion of the Alaska Highway between 1942-1943, including base camps, equipment and storage, winter road construction, summer construction, wrecks and spills, bridge work, and the Dawson Creek explosion. Included is a typed notation of photographs which have been identified and a newspaper article describing the Dawson Creek explosion and notes from an interview conducted by Linda White, his daughter.

Elmer Borstad fonds

The fonds consists of Elmer Borstad's personal papers, records as alderman and mayor including pages from a large scrapbook, records and photographs of involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and Northern Alberta Development Council, a scrapbook of records (1978-79) related to his nomination as candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party and subsequent election as MLA for Grande Prairie, a scrapbook of records as chairman of the QEII Foundation and head of the MRI capital campaign (1997-1999), and records of his chairmanship on the Capital Campaign Committee for building additional student residences at GPRC. There is also a mylared copy of a full-page 1959 advertisement "marking 12 years of service to Grande Prairie & District" , a booklet "The Canol Adventure" written by Mr. Borstad, and a photograph album detailing Elmer's involvement with RCSCC Micmac Squadron Sea Cadets (1955-1966), including photographs of the first Wrenette Corps in Alberta established in Grande Prairie in 1957.

Jack & Dorothy Potts fonds

The photographs include snapshots of the corps at the railway station and with the all-terrrain vehicles used in the “Muskox” Expedition; group photos of the corps’ hockey and baseball teams, and one of them with their families on an outing at Lake Saskatoon; views of the town of Grande Prairie; and personal photographs of Mrs. Potts and their first home above the Beauty Parlour.

Jack and Vera Soars fonds

The fonds consists of 6 photographs (4 relating to his RCAF service, 1943), 3 certificates congratulating Jack and his wife Vera on their fiftieth wedding anniversary, a CD copy of an interview Jack conducted with J.B. Oliver, a copy of a school project written by Joan (Oliver) Little on the history of CFGP, and a newspaper column "Jottings from Alberta" for which Jack was the correspondent. An accrual consists of a receipt for Norman Soars for a birth certificate (1916), high school examination results, records relating to Jack's service during WWII in the Royal Canadian Air Force including a cerificate ofappointment as Pilot Officer in 1944 and a Central Mortgage and Housing report (1957); 4 scripts, 1 appears to be a speech and a collection of jokes and newsarticles, a booklet "Alberta Folklore Quarterly" and 7 crests related to curling and 3 from CFGP. A further accrual included digital copies of recordings of Jack presenting "Tapestry of Christmas" broadcasts on CFGP.

Vera's documents include records as a student in grade 6,a grade 8 Public School Leaving Diploma, a Elementary Certificate from St. Martin's House, Toronto, for Pitman's Shorthand (1936), and one from Pitman House, Toronto where she qualified for Stage 2 Pitman Shorthand (1937) and certificates from Grande Prairie Business College qualifying for Intermediate Typing and Advanced Typing (1937), a certificate of baptism (1920), a confirmation certificate (1932) and a crest from the Grande Prairie Ladies Curling Champions.
