Beaverlodge to Grande Prairie Marathon

This series contains textual records and photographs related to the Beaverlodge to Grande Prairie Marathon. These records consist of: official results, route maps, financial statements, correspondence, newspaper articles, press releases, and marathon histories. The Beaverlodge to Grande Prairie Marathon was started in 1983. It originally started near the Shell service station in Beaverlodge and finished in Grande Prairie at the old Montrose Junior High School. The course later changed to start at the Beaverlodge Regional High School and end at the Grande Prairie Regional College. In 1998 the course was changed due to highway construction, with runners starting in Beaverlodge and reversing direction at Wembley to finish back in Beaverlodge. This change became permanent in 1999 and the name of the marathon was changed to South Peace Marathon.
