Hugo and Mary Coli fonds

The fonds consists of photos of the 1959-60 Athabasca baseball team, 1948-49 Harvest Queen candidates, and Bill Blacklock and Hugo Coli by Athabasca Funeral Home; a 1962 list of electors for Pelican Portage; 2 reels of 8mm film taken when Hugo delivered ballot boxes in the Pelican area in [1955]. There is also a certificate for 10 shares purchased in Athabasca Clay Products in November, 1967.

Isreal CJJ Shank fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence and certificates of Isreal Shank including Olds School of Agriculture, his years in the RCMP, his involvement in numerous horticultural endeavours and cards from his 95th birthday. There is a booklet entitled "Jackie"(about a seagull) written by his second wife, Aileen Teal Shank, 2 books written by Isreal Shank: " Memories of a Mountie" and "Some Things I Remember", and a copy of Athabasca Album with an addendum of commentary. There are 23 photographs of Mr. Shank including a signed photo of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip; 1 audio cassette; and 4 artifacts : 1933, 175 lb. boxing championship medal, 1951 presidential plaque of Saskatchewan Horticultural Societies Association, 1936 Alberta Prosperity Certificate and a 1940s fur RCMP hat. The last addition is the 1952 document naming Mr. Shank as a Sub-Inspector in the RCMP. It is signed by Governor-General Vincent Massey. A scrapbook has items regarding the boxing prowess of Isreal and his brothers. Oliver represented Canada at the Berlin Olympics in 1936 as the light heavyweight champ of Canada.

Joe and Margaret Logan fonds

The fonds consists of an oral history of the Wabasca area including George Arnold, Chief Bigstone, Father Desmarais, Adam Gladue, the Grand Rapids, David Grandbois, Peter Grandbois, George Hees, the Hudson's Bay and Revillon Freres companies, Indian Treaty and Halfbreed Scrip Commission, 1899; Frank Lafferty, Norbert Piche, Canon William Grove White (1894-1934), boxing, fishing, freighting, lime industry, and the mission school. Two more cassettes were recorded in the early 1980s with Margaret Logan speaking about early First Nations people living near Baptiste Lake, AB. She mentions her family, Pat Laroque, Sarah LaFleur. origin of name of Baptiste Lake, and the Nipshank family.

The fonds consists of some of Jack Appleby's poetry; some is in his hand writing. The photographs are of the Athabasca ski jump hill taken about 1949. "Literary Works of Ted Appleby, " April 1951 includes poetry, essays and short stories; an assignment for teacher Janet Martin who taught in Athabasca in the 1940s.

The fonds consists of catalogues and repair part lists for various agricultural machinery; a sash and door catalogue; several periodicals; photographs of the stagecoach and Athabasca area scenes including: Baptiste Lake Supplies store, dogsledding, snow hover machine with external engine, a truck part way through the ice on the Athabasca River,and Hudson's Bay transport in Athabasca in 1914. There is a photo of the 1934 train wreck at Meanook, AB. There is a poster for the 4th annual Athabasca Fair and Rodeo, Aug. 2-3, c 1965.

The fonds consists of 30 photographs of events held during the 75th anniversary celebration of the Town of Athabasca in 1986. These events are: Homecoming Wine & Cheese; Homecoming Picnic; and September Banquet. The fonds also includes a donation of geological equipment from Roy Fodchuk, (19.16) and these items include "Cote's Map of Athabaska Landing c. 1907; "How and Where to Pan Gold," 1961; "Simple Methods of Gold Mining," 1969; two geological hammers, 14 mineral samples, a core sample, a prospector's claim kit, three diamond drill bits, a laboratory test sieve, DMR Report No. 115, Part II, The Geology of the Nemeiben Lake Area, four bank transfer for Studor Gold Mines ,Ltd., and the corporate seal of the North Shore Uranium Ltd.

The artifact is a 22 cm tall brass bell. In 1987 the club produced a monopoly-like game: "Game of Athabasca".

The fonds consists of the charter and by-laws; financial statements for 1983-1989; special project reports such as skate-a-thons, FCSS van purchase and baseball diamond construction; correspondence and some membership lists; 3 scrapbooks of clippings and photographs from 1956-1966, 1981-1982, 1962-1985.There is a special collection of material regarding the 1966 Klondike Karavan on the Athabasca Landing Trail. The artifacts include 2 large Kinsmen flags, a vest, trophies, six glasses and corporate seals. The national convention was in Athabasca in 1972. In 1983 the Kinsmen Club sponsored the RCMP Musical Ride.
