Jasper Yellowhead Historical Society Lucerne Photograph Collection

The collection consists of photographs of the town of Lucerne, BC and it's residents. Many of the photographs pertain to the Canadian Northern Railway with views of; the rail yard, railroad station, roundhouse, water tower and employees. Also included are views of; the school, church groups, harvesting ice and baseball. The collection also consists of photos of the road west of Jasper which later became the Yellowhead Highway. One view is of the ruins of a Japanese Internment Camp.

The fonds consists of records that were created by or pertain to Jasper Jr./Sr. High School students. The records in this fonds were accumulated or created between 1952 to 2002. The records were all created by students who attended Jasper Jr./Sr. High School and have been arranged into series based on contents of files. The majority of items in this collection are Jasper High School Mountaineer yearbooks.

Fonds also consists of photographs of the Lewis Swift family and their homestead. Including Lewis and Suzette (nee Chalifoux) Swift and their children Ida, Jimmie, Dean and Lottie; other family members, parents, brother, nephews and Albert Norris, son of Mrs. Swift; Ida's husband Tommy Fortin and daughter Nathalia; Lottie's husband Gus Carlson and daughter Eunice. Also includes photographs of guests and friends of the Swift family including; Jack Gregg, Bob Jones, Red Creighton; visits of the Earl of Athalone and his wife; railroad construction and hunting.

The fonds consists of photographs: one is of the 1/2 and 1/2 shack at Red Pass Junction, BC and the other is of unknown buildings around an unknown lake. The fonds also consists of a series of six postcards of Jasper National Park: Beauvert Lake, Pyramid Mountain; Athabasca Falls; Totem Pole, Jasper townsite; Athabasca River, Mount Hardisty; Lac Beauvert, Jasper Park Lodge; Mount Robson Provincial Park, Berg Lake. The fonds also consists of a letter written by Marguerite talking about her family's history with the area and memories of picking blueberries at Red Pass Junction, BC.
