Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club fonds

The fonds consists of membership lists for the entire span of the group, newsletters, meeting minutes, registers of dance participants, financial statements, posters, flyers, correspondence, histories, and call sheets.

The newsletters include Buttons and Bows publications as well as publications from the Edmonton District Square Dance Association, the Alberta Square Dance Institute, the Alberta Square and Round Dance Federation, and the Canadian Square Dance Association. There is also correspondence from several of these organizations as well as from other clubs.

The histories were compiled by club members for various club anniversaries and consist of oral histories, recollections, and compendia of articles about club activities.

The photos are in albums arranged chronologically with all of the subjects meticulously identified. The badges were collected by club members from various dance that they attended, sister clubs, dance associations, and special events. The badges are arranged in polyethylene sleeves.

The fonds consists of a draft of an article by Bill Corbett entitled "A Modest Man" or "A Gentle Canadian," which is about Bill Corbett's grandfather Hiram Staples, and a booklet by Bill Corbett entitled "The Corbetts in Canada."

The bulk of the fonds consists of a variety of documents relevant to the Central and Eastern District from 1918 to 1984, primarily in the form of correspondence and church reports. Also included are documents such as personnel records and newspaper excerpts, as well as items such as slides, pictures, photographic printing plates, and some marriage registers. Also included in the fonds are documents pertaining to the CAMA Woodlands project. These include various site diagrams, and many proposals and resumes from various architectural and engineering firms. Finally, many items in this collection concern Ivan Panin, and his communal following the "Church of God Sojourning in Aldershot" (who were the original owners of the CAMA Woodlands property). Such items include many notes and lessons on a variety of topics (including Biblical numerics), some essays concerning Russian literature, and a few personal and family Bibles dating back as far as 1836. All material in the fonds has been maintained in its original order, and is arranged in the following five series: Eastern & Central District Correspondence & Reports, CAMA Woodlands, Panin, Printing Plates for Photographs, and Marriage & Church Registers.

C. Campbell McLaurin fonds

Fonds consists of materials created by C. Campbell McLaurin, Calgary lawyer, dating from 1930-1968. The fonds consists of three notebooks containing notes on legal topics and references: one volume on insurance subjects, arranged alphabetically and two volumes on general subjects, one ca. 1930-1938 and 1938-ca. 1944. The fonds also includes several certificates and photographs related to McLaurin's legal career. Photographs include one of McLaurin at the 1955 London Commonwealth Empire Law Conference with Campbell Grant and Campbell Des Brisay, as well as a 1957 photograph of McLaurin at the Diesel Commission. The fonds also includes two travel journals self-published by McLaurin, one detailing his 1959 round-the-world trip, and one discussing his 1979 trip to China.

The fonds consists of items created and collected by the Cairns family from [ca. 1953]-2005, including newspaper clippings, a eulogy for Leo Pekarsky, and a photograph of Sharon Cairns and Donna Weisler. Fonds also includes two laser photocopies of photographs dated ca. 1953 and ca. 1958 that depict the guests at the sweet sixteen party of Judy Shugarman, and the dedication of the Edmonton Talmud Torah School to Leo Pekarsky. Fonds also includes 36 photos from the Talmud Torah 75th anniversary dinner in 1987. Fonds also includes two music CDs, one by Bobby Cairns and one of Superband featuring Jason Cairns.
