Theodora McKay fonds

The fonds consists of Theodora's First World War records, including letters from soldiers in the trenches (especially Ralph Burman and Howard Green); a plan of the No. 4 CCCS; a map of the Mons area used on the last day of the war; dance cards and greeting cards from various military units; souvenir postcards and travel guides from France, Belgium and Italy; an invitation to Buckingham Palace to receive her Royal Red Cross decoration; and photographs of nurses and patients. The fonds also consists of miscellaneous records of her life before and after the war, including wedding invitations, greeting cards, newspaper clippings, etc.

Correspondence Associated with Scottish Branch, British Red Cross Society

The Spirit Valley Women's Institute received a list of ten names of elderly and ill people in need in Lochgelly, Fife, Scotland from the Scottish Branch of the British Red Cross. After sending food parcels to the people on the list, they received several letters thanking them. Correpondents include: William Whyte, Margaret M. Scott, Mrs. I. I. Wilson, Mrs. M. Jennings, Jenny Whyte, Mrs. L. Greenhorn, and Mrs. (Hugh) L. MacDonald.

The fonds consists of correspondence and interviews relating to the research for her historical novel, 'Fortress North'. It also includes a manuscript for the book and her ink and watercolour illustrations for each chapter, a series of historical paintings of Edmonton and area, records relating to her work for the City of Edmonton Archives and Landmarks Committee, and miscellaneous correspondence, sketches, and notes.
The photographs include various Edmonton scenes, the Walker family and friends as well as photographs of her paintings and woodcut prints of images used for her book.
The artwork includes her original paintings and two sculptures.
