Fonds consists of records relating to the life and work of Christina Sharon Olsen. The records include a news article from the Calgary Herald published in 2009 detailing Christina’s childhood and experience as a preoperative trans woman living and working in Alberta and overseas; report cards and photographs from Christina’s schooling in Claresholm, Alberta between 1953 and 1965; photographs documenting Christina’s work as a drilling engineer in Africa and Alberta between 1977 and 2000; and photographs of Christina’s cats and visiting wildlife to her acreage west of Calgary taken in the years after her gender reassignment surgery in 2004.

The collection consists of newspaper clippings, lists of accounts, letterbooks, personal papers, correspondence, inspection reports, transportation modes and costs, inventories pertaining to the Hudson's Bay Company and its presence in Alberta and Athabasca, where it established a post from 1877-1924. Included are articles from the Beaver magazine: "Skippering a scow" on the Athabasca by N.A.Howland; "The Last of the Brigades" by Guy Blanchet; and "Inland Journey" by J.W.Chalmers (Treaty 8).

The fonds consists of records of the Spirit River Settlement Historical Society including executive records and records of their History Book Committee which consist of planning documents, financial records, minutes and correspondence, and original and/or edited copies of submissions to the Spirit River history book Chepi Sepe. The first sections of the Book Committee records include a history of the general region and the Spirit River Settlement area, the coming of settlers and the growth of agriculture, businesses, industries, municipal governments, the history of veterans of WWI and WWII, schools, churches, medical facilities, and cultural and recreational groups. The second main body of the records contains original and/or edited copies of over 630 family histories arranged in alphabetical order by surname.

Mack Prentiss fonds

The fonds consists of a computer disc containing 86 images of the Prentiss and Sheer family, their farm on the shore of Bear Lake, Mack’s activities as a child on the farm, workers and farm activities throughout the seasons, and a few scenes of Grande Prairie. Most of the photographs on the disc have descriptive captions or accompanying notes identifying the people, places and events. There are also 7 photographs relating to the personal life of the Prentiss Family, including Hermit Lake School students, a photograph of Marion and Mack Prentiss, and an aerial photograph of the farm; and some newspaper clippings, mainly from Grande Prairie papers, relating to the Prentiss family and their activities. Topics include agriculture, family and personal life/biography, curling, education and student activities, Job’s Daughters, Masons, and the Grande Prairie Museum.

Jim Somerville fonds

The Jim Somerville collection follows his career as a surveyor in the Peace region, and his life as a homesteader. The first series of photographs is from Henry Selby's 1905 survey of the 20th base line west of the fifth meridian. The photographs show the environment of the area east of the Smoky River, the activities of his survey crew, and the life of a surveyor. There are also several photographs of buildings in Grouard and Stopping Places in the area. From 1909 to 1911 Jim Somerville worked as a packer in Walter McFarlane's survey crew. The photographs from this series show the environment of the land which was surveyed and the life of the surveyors at work. The regions which were covered stretch from Edmonton to Fort St. John, B.C. The last series of photographs show Jim's life as a homesteader in southern Alberta and the Peace Country.
An accrual of paper records include a Riley & McCormick cowboy equipment catalogue (1925); 6 small booklets recording activities and purchases (1912-1948), bank account (1926-1944), and a diary (1927); land tax documents(1920-1932),a notice of caveat (1949); gasoline ration coupons (1943), correspondence concerning the Buffalo Lakes Swine Improvement Association and a letter from J.B. Oliver; 4 personal cards, 2 pages of accounts with R.G. Maclean, assorted financial records (1913-1948), and a Buffalo Lakes newspaper article

The fonds consists of a photo album containing some family photographs and images of their travels, as well as greeting cards and other miscellany. The bulk of the images however, show a trip to Alberta around 1911-1913, including views of Calgary, Lethbridge, Crowsnest Pass, Banff and other Alberta locales. Several dozen of the Lethbridge images were taken by Arthur Rafton Canning, 1865-1952, who operated the British & Colonial Photographic Company in Lethbridge from 1907 to 1913.
