The fonds consists of materials created or collected by the Honourable Madam Mary Hetherington of Calgary and dates from 1894-1999. The records reflect Mary Hetherington's role in the development of an extensive Court of Appeal historic display and the set up of the Glenbow Museum and Legal Archives Society of Alberta exhibit cases. The material is not fully processed but a preliminary analysis of the records reveals that the fonds consists of correspondence, memoranda, research material, photographs and 4X5 negatives collected by Madam Justice Hetherington in her capacity as a core group member of the heritage committee project at the Court of Appeal building dating from 1894-1999. An original and autographed photographic print depicting the Judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Alberta, ca. 1936 is among the images donated. The fonds also includes an original oversize vellum certificate proclaiming C. F. P. Conybeare's assignment as Queen's Counsel during Queen Victoria's reign in 1894. Photo negatives depict Calgary's first, second and third court houses (Court of Appeal and Court of Queen's Bench), early land title office building, 52 Judges of the Court of Appeal of Alberta numbered in order of their seniority, the residences of David Lynch Scott and P. J. Nolan, and a photo of the painting once located in the Banff cottage of early Calgary lawyer Paddy Nolan. Photos taken during the retirement dinner of C.J.A. Ford (1961) and William J. Haddad (1990) are also included.

The fonds consists of one article entitled "Athabasca Landing Ferry, (1906-1951)." The ferry service in Athabasca Landing began in 1906. In 1934 a cable cage system was installed as an auxiliary service to the ferry. When a bridge across the Athabasca River opened in 1952 the ferry service was discontinued. The article is illustrated with photographs, newspaper articles and crossing statistics. The cassette includes information on researching the history of the Town of Athabasca. A donation of seven books includes David Leonard's Peace River series: The Lure of the Peace Country 1872 – 1914, David Leonard and Victoria Lemieux: 1992.
