Fonds consists of executive, administrative and operational records relating to the cultural activities, business licensing, promotional and tourism development functions of the Department and its predecessors. The fonds also contains records of the Alberta Agent-General's Office, which reported to the Department. The fonds is made up of correspondence, reports, studies, licensing case files, minutes and agendas of meetings of departmental committees, boards and councils, financial records, publications and a variety of Golden Jubilee commemorative material. The fonds also contains records of the Provincial Marketing Board and its wholly-owned corporate subsidiaries, Marketing Services Limited and Prairie Woolen Mills Limited. The records have been arranged into the following series. Agent-General records; Alberta Golden Jubilee Committee records; Business licensing records; Promotional film production and distribution records; Provincial Marketing Board records; Publicity records; Tourism development executive records.
The fonds consists of records created by the Department in performing the mandated activities of providing public relief, administering various pension and grant programs, and conducting civil defence support activities. The records have been arranged into two series:;1. Public welfare cheques from ca. 1955 to ca. 1961 ;2. Emergency civil defence administrative and operational records from 1950 to 1965.

The fonds consists of records of the Alberta Estonian Heritage Society including membership lists, photographs of members and events organized by the society, minute meetings, financial records, and copies of their newsletter, Ajakaja. The fonds also includes materials relating to the construction of their informational website, "Alberta's Estonian Heritage", the production of their documentary "Alberta's Estonians", and the creation of the illustrated book "The Story of Alberta's Estonians." The fonds also includes three additional series: The Calgary Estonian Society series PR3396.0001, The Edmonton Estonian Society series PR3396.0002, and The Medicine Valley Estonian Society series PR3396.0003.
