Water Power

The sub-series consists of Kay’s ideas for water power designs, including an inflatable dam, a wave-activated generator for which he applied for a patent in 1979, a hydraulic-powered turbine generator, and a water-driven power generator.

Wind Power

The sub-series consists of a collection of Kay’s ideas for wind power designs including a wind generator (squirrel cage) with fixed pitch blades and contoured air/wind ducting, variable pitch blades, wind generators independent of wind direction, a constant speed wind machine, an arc wind generator, and a water/wind-powered oscillator-driven turbine.

Women's Institute Photo Album

The sub-series consists of an album of 89 photographs with descriptions traces the history of the Grande Prairie Women's Institute from 1924-1969. Rose was a charter member and remained very active in the club throughout her life. The album tells the story of much of the work of the Institute during these years.

World Federation of International Music Competitions

Sub-series consists of material related to the Banff International String Quartet Competition's membership in the World Federation of International Music Competitions. It includes the Federation's statutes, as well as minutes and correspondence from the organization's General Assemblies, executive committee, and Pan-American Council.

World Tour

The sub-series consists of photographs of Herman and Beatrice Trelle aboard ship and in many of the countries around the world. There are also two postcard albums with souvenirs postcards from the countries they visited and from across Canada, presumably collected on the way to their exhibitions in world fairs, or on their way to New York to start their world tour.

The sub-series consists of photographs of Herman and Kay Trelle in uniform during World War II, including platoon photographs from Kay's training days, his time in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and his time in the Amreican Air Force.

World War II Documents

The sub series consists of 12 letters written by boys from the Sunnybrook area to Frank Kozar while they were in the army; one letter to Franz and Anna Kozar from the War Relief Committee in Jennersdorf, Austria in 1949; and 10 ration books designated to the five members of the Kozar family.

World War II Literature

The sub-series consists of literature printed by the Department of National Defence or Canadian Military Headquarters and given to soldiers as educational material. It falls into several categories: general information like a Dutch language dictionary, map reading instructions and protection against VD; military information such as Canadian Army Instructions, military training pamphlets, and precautions to be taken in the event of capture; war-time publications such as “Current Affairs,” “Learn to Use Enemy Weapons” and “War Battle Report;” specific information needed for your army career (in this case machinist), and discharge information.

World War II Photographs

The sub-series consists of unidentified photographs and negatives taken during the war years. Some have been tentatively identified as the Grande Prairie training barracks; the training centers at Edmonton, Barriefield and Kingston; and European cities such as Zwolle, Netherlands and London, England.
