Athabasca and District Music Festival Association fonds

The fonds consists of materials created by the Athabasca and District Music Festival between 1974 and 2012. The fonds consists of annual programs and handbills for the final concerts; also included are the 1974, 1975, 1978, 1981, 1986-1990, 1993 annual financial statements. 20th and 35th Gala Concerts showcased former performers who have made a career in the arts. There are also several programs of the Alberta Music Festival Association annual Provincial Festivals and an "Anthology of Poetry", a collection of poems by local writers, sponsored by the Music Festival Association to celebrate Athabasca's 75th anniversary in 1986. 99.45: Creative Music: Original compositions by students of Lynne Hartley written for the creative music category of the Athabasca Music Festival 1996 - 98.

The collection consists of newspaper clippings, lists of accounts, letterbooks, personal papers, correspondence, inspection reports, transportation modes and costs, inventories pertaining to the Hudson's Bay Company and its presence in Alberta and Athabasca, where it established a post from 1877-1924. Included are articles from the Beaver magazine: "Skippering a scow" on the Athabasca by N.A.Howland; "The Last of the Brigades" by Guy Blanchet; and "Inland Journey" by J.W.Chalmers (Treaty 8).
