Well drillers Merlin Horneland and Albert Neptead drilling a well on the Rorem homestead. The well bucket had knives under it, and when it was full, was pulled out to dump. This well was 90 ft. deep and the water came right to the top. The cribbing was made out of wood. and the wooden casing had a 2" hole.
Equipment used in the community sawmill. Note the water tank in the foreground. The first year, wood was hauled in voluntarily when anyone had time, then the group got together and saw it into lumber.
Hilltop view of the horse teams and wagons of the Spencer party coming down the snowy Edson-Grande Prairie Trail. Note the heavy boiler they are bringing over the trail.
