Anais Roxborough fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of children and adults, dog teams, scenery, mining activities, and a dam near Atlin. Many of the images are believed to be from the areas of Engineer Mine on Tagish Lake, Yukon and Atlin, B.C. Anais Roxborough brought the camera used to take the photographs over from France.

The fonds consists of copy negs with reference prints of Stan Rivers and his family in Dawson City, Yukon, a parade (possibly Discovery Day) including views of the Fraternal Order of Eagles float, musicians on a decorated truck, and activities in Minto Park following the parade. Sternwheelers Casca and Aksala, hotels, houses and the waterfront in Dawson City are also depicted.

The fonds consists of 1148 glass plate negatives created or collected by Whitehorse photographer E.J. Hamacher. The negatives were taken ca. 1898-1935. They include panoramic views and images of Yukon communities and Skagway, Alaska; transportation (sternwheelers, automobiles, dogsleds, etc.); domestic animals and wildlife; studio and casual shots of First Nations people, Royal Canadian Mounted Police [RCMP], clergy, women, families, etc.; mining on Bullion Creek and Livingstone Creek; totem poles; a picnic at Miles Canyon sponsored by Kodak for the Whitehorse Photography Club; scenic views; social events; and miscellaneous subjects.

The fonds consists of original photographs, compiled by Olive Storey into 3 albums, of the Braeburn Christian Camp in the Yukon. The photographs record the history of the camp and depict people, events, and buildings, ca. 1958-1996. Some photographs were taken by Eric Grasholm.

Dan Bethune fonds

The fonds consists of 161 original b&w photographs taken by Dan Bethune during construction of the Alaska Highway through British Columbia, the Yukon and Alaska. Images include personnel, trucks, bulldozers, sternwheelers and wildlife. A number of photographs depict equipment from "A.E. Jupp Construction Co.", a road building firm from Toronto.

Frank Slim fonds

The fonds consists of original photographs, taken or collected by Frank Slim, which reflect his life and travels on Yukon waterways. Included are groups of images of freighting on the Liard and Dease rivers, ca. 1940; the Yukon Rose, ca. 1936-1937; other vessels - the Loon, Nasutlin, and Aksala; river views - Five Finger Rapids, the Yukon, Ross and Teslin rivers, cabins and settlements on the rivers and lakes. Also included are images of the communities of Carcross, Ross River, Lower Post and Whitehorse; Chooutla School; planes; family and friends including Agnes Slim, Donald Walker, and Big Salmon Harry and his wife Elsie and son Johnny; and spring time activities. The colour photograph depicts Frank Slim standing on the deck of the M.V. Schwatka in 1967.

Peter Bennett fonds

The fonds consists of photographs and ephemera collected on Dr. Bennett's 1948 trip to the Yukon. The photographs were copied from an album and show sternwheelers, scenes along the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR), Carcross, Whitehorse, Minto, Burwash Landing, Stewart, Dawson City and Bear Creek. Also included are photocopies of a menu from the Arcade Cafe in Dawson City, and from the Kluane Inn Cafe; a fur export tax permit; an article on jewellry making in the Yukon; and an article written by Peter Bennett, "Up In The Yukon". There are also two pages of notes provided in 1985 by Loree Stewart of Heritage Branch, Yukon Government, about Dr. Bennett and his 1948 trip.

The collection consists of 2 posters and 12 negatives and reference prints of photographs on the posters. The posters are 2 pages extracted from Harper's Weekly (October 11, 1897) and The Graphic (September 17, 1898). Each poster contains hand-tinted photographs of scenes on the trail to the Klondike Gold Fields.

The collection consists of original photographs, mostly taken in Whitehorse, Yukon, depicting buildings, relocation of the White Pass & Yukon Route (WP&YR) roundhouse on the waterfront, WP&YR tracks and rolling stock, and sternwheelers. Also included is an image of the Duchess and the Tutshi in Carcross, and the MV Tarahne in Atlin, B.C.

The fonds consists of textual records related to the construction of the Alaska Highway. It was created and collected by Mr. G.M. Williams, Office of Engineering, Bureau of Public Roads, Dept. of Commerce, Washington 25, D.C. It includes "Bridge Log, Alaska Highway", "Fixed Fee Contract Public Roads Administration Federal Works Agency", "Fixed Fee Construction Contract War Department", "Postwar Travel on the Alaska Highway", and copy of a report titled: "Estimated Status of Work on the Alaska Highway as of September 6, 1943". Also included are financial statements, numerous pipe specs used for culvert installations, a handwritten diary of an Alaska Highway inspection trip made by G.M Williams, various maps, plans, blueprints and personnel organizational charts relating to the highway.
