Marion Hill fonds

The fonds consists of five photograph albums documenting the life of Marion Hill, including her childhood in Beaverlodge and White Rock, B.C.; her life as a young adult in Beaverlodge, White Rock and Victoria; her teaching career in Beaverlodge and Victoria; and her life as an Navy WREN from 1944-1946. The papers include a series of Grade 9 High School Entrance examinations in mathematics, science, health education, english language and literature, and general knowledge; and brochures from musical and dramatic events from 1975-1979 which were preserved by her daughter.

Francis Victor Tanner fonds

The fonds consists of records of Fran's service in WWII including 2 ration books, a public school leaving diplomain 1936 and high school examination results for 1939-1940 as well as one for his brother Donald in 1930, a confirmation certificate in 1936, his career with CFGP and the sports world, and personal papers and photographs. Also included are a Grande Prairie trackmeet first place pin and ribbon, a Sutton R.E.A. third prize ribbon, and a photograph of Fran as a young boy soldier mounted and cut from wood.

Jack and Vera Soars fonds

The fonds consists of 6 photographs (4 relating to his RCAF service, 1943), 3 certificates congratulating Jack and his wife Vera on their fiftieth wedding anniversary, a CD copy of an interview Jack conducted with J.B. Oliver, a copy of a school project written by Joan (Oliver) Little on the history of CFGP, and a newspaper column "Jottings from Alberta" for which Jack was the correspondent. An accrual consists of a receipt for Norman Soars for a birth certificate (1916), high school examination results, records relating to Jack's service during WWII in the Royal Canadian Air Force including a cerificate ofappointment as Pilot Officer in 1944 and a Central Mortgage and Housing report (1957); 4 scripts, 1 appears to be a speech and a collection of jokes and newsarticles, a booklet "Alberta Folklore Quarterly" and 7 crests related to curling and 3 from CFGP. A further accrual included digital copies of recordings of Jack presenting "Tapestry of Christmas" broadcasts on CFGP.

Vera's documents include records as a student in grade 6,a grade 8 Public School Leaving Diploma, a Elementary Certificate from St. Martin's House, Toronto, for Pitman's Shorthand (1936), and one from Pitman House, Toronto where she qualified for Stage 2 Pitman Shorthand (1937) and certificates from Grande Prairie Business College qualifying for Intermediate Typing and Advanced Typing (1937), a certificate of baptism (1920), a confirmation certificate (1932) and a crest from the Grande Prairie Ladies Curling Champions.

The fonds consists of Kay’s personal papers; his ideas as an engineer; the records of the N.E.W. Systems Ltd. company which he founded with two partners; patent applications for his inventions; files containing his designs and working papers for his original ideas, such as an expandable mobile housing unit, alternative energies, pyramidology, geodesic dome structures, and the magnet motor; files containing his work history, designs and working papers for projects such as helicopter design for Hiller Helicopters, the Boeing 747 Drone Carrier, the high sea system with capsule for Lockheed Petroleum Services, the Trident Amphibian aircraft, and his work at TRIUMF, Canada’s meson facility based at the University of British Columbia.
The photographs in this fonds are of the construction and finished prototype of the expandable mobile housing unit, and of the modified Boeing 747 commercial aircraft redesigned as a Drone Carrier.
Blueprints include 12 hand-drawn plans on graph paper for the testing of the components of the expandable mobile housing unit, 53 diazo plans related to the Boeing 747 Drone Carrier project, and 1 diazo plan for the Trident Amphibian aircraft.
The sound recording is an interview with Mae Trelle, in January 2011, regarding Kay’s life and work.
The files were retained in their original format, as Mr. Trelle had created them, with the same file label on each individual file. The order within the files, and the order of the files themselves were sometimes adjusted for date as Mr. Trelle appeared to keep the more recent files in a different location, as if he was working on the current files.

Ray Boyer fonds

The fonds consists of a biography written by Ray's son, Arnie; a letter and a copy of a Christmas card sent to his parents during the war; gasoline ration coupons and his chauffer's license (1950-1951); copies of two maps, "The Campaign in the Netherlands" and "The Battle for the Rivers" (in Italy), and a copy of his discharge certificate.

The fonds consists of a scrapbook conatining historical documents relating to Charles Thomas McLinden Turner and Jeanne (Dubois) Turner, 149 photographs of the Turner family and Grande Prairie town in the 1940s and 1950s. Also included is a number of hockey team photographs and a geneological record of the Turner family written by Suzanne Dunn.
