The fonds consists of 16 black and white negatives featuring members of the MacFarland and Wood families of Calgary, Alberta dating from ca. 1909. The fonds also includes six kodachrome 35 mm slides taken by William Betts in 1965 capturing Reg Kelly during an Honorary Chief Ceremony at the Saddle Lake Cree Nation Reserve with Chief Ralph Steinhauer presiding. The slides also feature Reg’s wife, Mary White Jacket, and their son, Harvey.

Ted Pitman fonds

A description of finding Indigenous points on a property 12 miles south and east of Athabasca, Alberta at the intersection of TWP 652 and Rng Rd 220 which was originally homesteader in 1908. Ted Pitman picked up arrow heads from a site where an Indigenous sweat lodge was located and there are descriptions of some of the points. The collection of points has been lost. Little Pine Creek runs through the property.

The fonds consists of a winter count, written by Yellow Fly (ca. 1927), which records important Blackfoot events from 1831 to 1877; his newspaper article about tipi designs (ca. 1935); a transcript of his CBC radio talk about the Blackfoot (1937); copies of his correspondence and a short speech (1940-1944); his articles about Chief Crowfoot and "The Red Man's Burdern (1940s); newspaper obituaries on his death (1950); and a biography written by George Gooderham (1956). Includes photographs of Yellow Fly during a visit to Los Angeles shortly before his death.
