Eldon Shail fonds

The fonds consists of 2 audio cassette tapes (with transcript notes) which record Eldon Shail's memories of growing up and living out his adult life in the Hythe area. There is also one photograph of a dog sled race on the main street in Grande Prairie, taken around the time the Shails arrived in the area in 1919, and a hand-written book showing settlers and land locations in the Grande Prairie area, including Hythe. This was a project done by various old-timers to create a record of the homesteaders who filed on land in this area.

Elizabeth Dunlap fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of Grande Prairie during the time Miss Dunlap lived there, a limited edition booklet of poems written by Nurse Baird and Miss Drynan on the occasion of a trip to Edmonton in 1914, Miss Dunlap’s calling card, and some news clippings of Elizabeth’s success as a tennis player in Grande Prairie. The book of poetry also includes some area photographs.

Ethel Buck fonds

The fonds consists of 14 photographs of Ethel Foote, her cousin Ray Rappel, Jean Goff and Ray's other friends in England, and Ray's wife Rosina. There is also Ethel's war registration card, and a 16 page letter from Rosina to Ethel in September 1944, written in response to Ethel's first letter to her. At the time, Rosina was already married/engaged to Ray and had applied to come to Canada.

The fonds consists of records of Fran's service in WWII including 2 ration books, a public school leaving diplomain 1936 and high school examination results for 1939-1940 as well as one for his brother Donald in 1930, a confirmation certificate in 1936, his career with CFGP and the sports world, and personal papers and photographs. Also included are a Grande Prairie trackmeet first place pin and ribbon, a Sutton R.E.A. third prize ribbon, and a photograph of Fran as a young boy soldier mounted and cut from wood.
