The fonds consists of original photographs, ca. 1898-1904, primarily of Grand Forks, Yukon. Many images include views of Woodburn's Drug Store and other street scenes in Grand Forks. Also included are views of mining activities, mining machinery and Dominion Day celebrations in Grand Forks. The following photographer's images are represented here: Kinsey & Kinsey; Johnson; Cantwell; E. A. Hegg; and Larss & Duclos. Also included are three mounted official letters dated 1901, 1902 and 1903 giving Walter Mayne Woodburn power of office as postmaster, a pharmaceutical chemist, and the ability to administer oaths and declarations, all for Grand Forks, Yukon.

The fonds consists of manuscripts and textual records created and collected by Rob Woodall through his research of the postal history of Yukon. Part of the collection is four volumes of material documenting the postal and social history of Porcupine River (Rampart House and Old Crow), including invoices, maps, photographs, receipts, correspondence, cancelled envelopes and postcards. There are also photocopies of letters from William Dempster, 1962, and letters from Woodall to Yukon Archives. The fonds also includes Woodall's twenty chapter manuscript of "The Postal History of Yukon Territory", completed in 1964, as well as correspondence with Alan Innes-Taylor regarding the compilation of the book and Woodall's other scholarly activities. There is also a typed manuscript entitled "Vilhjalmur Stefansson's Journey from Herschel Island to Fort Yukon, April 1918".

The collection consists of microfiche copies of scrapbooks that include clippings detailing the career of North West Mounted Police (NWMP) Major James Walsh (1843-1905), particularly when Walsh was at Fort Walsh, Saskatchewan and in the Yukon. Walsh joined the NWMP in 1873, was appointed Superintendent of the NWMP and Commissioner of the Yukon in 1897 and retired in 1898.

Wilkinson family fonds

The fonds includes photographs, textual records and films primarily generated by the Wilkinson family, however, there are some records from the Porterfield and Thompson families. The textual records include correspondence between members of the Wilkinson family and their friends; journals kept by the Wilkinsons; and poetry, primarily by J.C. Wilkinson. There is also a photocopied map that indicates Jared's trapline along the Pelly River. The photographs, largely taken by Jared and Eddie Wilkinson, depict the Wilkinson's life at Fort Selkirk, Plateau Mountain, Pelly Crossing, and Lansing from 1915 to 1980. They include views of communities, rivers, lakes, trapping, fishing, farming, hunting, wilderness areas, and people throughout the Yukon. The films, taken by Jared and Edwin Wilkinson, document the hunting, fishing, and trapping activities of the Wilkinson family during their years spent at Pelly Crossing, 1954-1958; the Wilkinsons' years at Edgewood, B.C.; and at Pelly Crossing, Lansing, and Whitehorse, 1958-1977.
