The fonds consists of various textual records related to Charles Spencer’s personal, business and commercial interests. The contents of the fonds deal primarily with his life and interests after moving to Grande Prairie in 1910, although the material dates from 1886 to 1941. Records include correspondence, notebooks, daily journals, receipts, contracts and agreements, sales and account books, share certificates, photographs and postcards. There are also two blueprints of the 1917 Montrose School which he designed.

The fonds is arranged in three series: Personal papers, Business papers and Photographs.

An order has been established by the processing archivist as original order had been disrupted.

Registers are signed by the following teachers: Dixie Gray, Arthur Holmberg, Mrs. Betty Coone, and Mrs. M. Jordan. The 1943-44 register also contains class lists from the Woking School District 4671 from 1952-1965.

I.V. Macklin fonds

The fonds consists of photographs of I.V. Macklin as a high school graduate, a university graduate, in the U of T Glee Club, in Grande Prairie with his wife Nellie and Dr. & Mrs. Forbes, on the UFA Board of Directors, as a candidate for the CCF party, at an NDP convention, and as an elderly man at home. The written records consists of a 1910 U of T yearbook; a book of Alberta Cooperative Leaders; a booklet containing many of Macklin’s speeches and radio addresses, called Life is More Than Meat; and some newspaper articles about the life of I.V. Macklin written in 1971. An accrual included a Macklin historical record, "Macklin Road" by Kenneth Macklin.
