Jasper Junior / Senior High School Collection

The fonds consists of records that were created by or pertain to Jasper Jr./Sr. High School students. The records in this fonds were accumulated or created between 1952 to 2002. The records were all created by students who attended Jasper Jr./Sr. High School and have been arranged into series based on contents of files. The majority of items in this collection are Jasper High School Mountaineer yearbooks.

The collection consists of photographs of the town of Lucerne, BC and it's residents. Many of the photographs pertain to the Canadian Northern Railway with views of; the rail yard, railroad station, roundhouse, water tower and employees. Also included are views of; the school, church groups, harvesting ice and baseball. The collection also consists of photos of the road west of Jasper which later became the Yellowhead Highway. One view is of the ruins of a Japanese Internment Camp.

The collection consists of photographs of the town of Pocahontas, Alberta and surrounding areas. Includes views of the town, it's residents, the post office, the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway station and the Pocahontas cemetary. Also includes views of the Jasper Park Collieries mine, mine buildings and employees (1910-1921); the Fitzhugh Lime and Stone Co. quarry (1911-1914); Miette Hot Springs (1929-1934); buildings at Carrot Creek (before Aug 1914) and the trail across Disaster Point (1909).

The fonds consists of photographs, documents, artifacts, slides and negatives. Artifacts consists mostly of camera equipement. Photographs are related to the time Joe Weiss lived in Jasper. Includes views of various expeditions such as Bedaux, Speckles, Bennett, Kingman and others. Views of skiing, fishing and hunting. Also includes buildings in the town site as well as Jasper Park Lodgeand other outlaying areas. The construction of the Astoria River dam and pipeline and the Pyramid Mountain microvave tower are also represented. Joe Weiss photographed the Lovat Scouts and the Para Rescue unit which trained in Jasper. Included in the photgraphs series is a group of portraits too numerous to list. Documents pertain to Joe Weiss and include Swiss correspondence, newspaper clippping, artistic information about his photographs, government documents and general information about his life.

Klettl family fonds

Fonds consists of records related to the Klettl family and their lives in Jasper National Park. Textual material includes Shirley Klettl's (nee Doige) reminiscences of her husband Toni's work in the Jasper Park Warden Service, including stories of their time spent at Blue Creek, Whirlpool Districts, avalanche control at Marmot Basin, trail construction at Tonquin Valley, and search and rescue operations. Photographic material includes photographs related to warden stations, including a photograph of Percy Goodair's grave site [1960?]. Also included is a set of photographs of Pipeline construction in Jasper National Park [1952?]. The fonds also includes the book The Governor General Bodyguard of Canada presented to Major Maynard Rogers, Superintendent of Jasper National Park, by the book's publisher.
