The fonds consists of letters written to relatives in Ontario about their homesteading experiences; account of harvest excursion to Alberta (1925); biographical information on Fred Taylor; and letter from J. E. Brown to the Trussler family describing settling near Three Hills, Alberta. Includes photographs of the Trussler and Taylor families in Delisle, Saskatchewan, Lacombe and New Norway in Alberta, plus postcard views of Wetaskiwin and Edmonton regions.

Botterill Hardware, and members of the Blood Nation dating from the 1880s; photographs of Medicine Hat featuring a hospital and the Lady Aberdeen's Women's Hospital dating from 1894; images of Saskatchewan including a carbonizing and briguetting plant; photographs of the University of Alberta and the Edmonton area including images of campus residences, the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the University Hospital, classes of students, St. Joseph's College, CKUA Radio Station, farm buildings, the Oliver Institute, and First Nations dating from the 1920s.

The fonds consists of histories written by Vera Bracken in ca. 1996 including "The One-Room School", the "Rural School Teacher", and the "Schools of the Foothills". The fonds also includes reminiscences documenting her experience growing up on a homestead in Alberta written in 1981 entitled, "Real and Romantic Reminiscences of the Early Years of the Daughter of a Pioneer."

The fonds consists of a typed transcript, completed in 1992 by Allen Ronaghan of Victoria Anderson and Mary Barnett's diary documenting their wagon journey from Waskasoo, Alberta to Vermilion, Alberta in 1906. The fonds also includes a letter, written in 1972, from Victoria Anderson to John C. Anderson describing the diary.
