Twelve-way clay ducts at Centre Street between 6th and 8th Avenues.

Items consist of two negatives, one original print and three copy prints of the duct system. Title is taken from the subject matter of the photograph;The underground conduit/duct system was initiated in 1910 so that the City's distribution system, within the downtown commercial areas of Sections 15 and 16, could be placed underground before the roads were paved (see the 1912 annual report);The 12-way duct system was constructed of clay and generally housed several cables for different sources;Illustrated in W.
