Croken Family fonds

The records consist of photographs and personal records from Patty and Rudy Croken and Jennie (Tomshak) Croken. They include P.V. Croken financial records from the P.V Croken Store; Patty’s correspondence from 1956-1973; personal income tax returns for Rudy & Jennie Croken from 1953-1958, and for Patty & Daisy Croken from 1958-1966; farm accounts and wheat board certificates; the papers for building Rudy & Jennie’s home in 1954; and two stories about living in Clairmont, and working in the Grande Prairie Post Office, written by Jennie Croken in 2014. The photographs are a wide assortment of subjects from the Peace Celebration in Grande Prairie in 1919, to Jennie on her travels in 1986.

Rorem family fonds

The fonds consists of 65 photographs relating to the history of the Rorem, Fimrite and Ronning families, Valhalla Center, Valhalla Luthern Church, and Valhalla School and newspaper articles relating to the same. Also included is a copy of Lyman's Teaching Cetificate, 1911 and a copy of 1915 Rules for Teachers.

Sears Lumber Company fonds

The fonds consists of one binder containing journal sheets with entries from April 20, 1929 to May 1, 1934. Besides recording the amount of each type of building material sold, the journal also records debits, credits, feet of lumber sold, name of customer, time sales, cash sales, cash received and cash paid out. The books are balanced at the end of each journal sheet.

Sexsmith UFA Local No. 204 fonds

The fonds consists of the 1920 incorporation documents of UFA Local 204; one Hall Account Book detailing expenses, revenue and shareholders from 1918 to 1933; and some loose pages including the contract and estimates for the new hall in 1934. In the Hall Account book there are a few brief minutes of decisions made by the trustees.

Village of Sexsmith fonds

The fonds consists of some papers from the 1947 and 1954 village elections and invoices and correspondence regarding the business of the Village of Sexsmith from 1943-1957. Included are invoices from Sexsmith Supplies Ltd., Canadian Utilities (for street lighting), Northern Alberta Railways, Municipal Supplies Ltd., Province of Alberta taxation notices, North Alberta Land Registration District, contract labourers, Grande Prairie Municipal Hospital District, Florist A.F. Hubler, M.D. of Grande Prairie No. 780, Saskatoon Fire Engine Company Ltd., McMillan Hardware, Midland & Pacific Grain Corporation, There is also a Government of the Province of Alberta invoice under The Old Age Pensions Act listing the five old age pensioners within the limits of the Village of Sexsmith.

Spirit River Settlement Historical Society fonds

The fonds consists of records of the Spirit River Settlement Historical Society including executive records and records of their History Book Committee which consist of planning documents, financial records, minutes and correspondence, and original and/or edited copies of submissions to the Spirit River history book Chepi Sepe. The first sections of the Book Committee records include a history of the general region and the Spirit River Settlement area, the coming of settlers and the growth of agriculture, businesses, industries, municipal governments, the history of veterans of WWI and WWII, schools, churches, medical facilities, and cultural and recreational groups. The second main body of the records contains original and/or edited copies of over 630 family histories arranged in alphabetical order by surname.

The fonds consists of a written history of U.G.G. in Sexsmith compiled by D.H. Fraser in 1985. It includes a list of the U.G.G. managers at Sexsmith from 1925 to 1985, a list of the Chairmen, Secretaries and other members who were involved with Local #423, and some newspaper articles regarding the opening of the 1964 elevator.
