William A. Moffat fonds

The fonds consists of copies of papers relating to the death of Alexander F. Moffat, as applied for by his brother William. Included are William Moffat's application to the Renfrew Surrogate Court in Ontario for Letters of Administration of his brother's estate, and Deeds of Renunciation completed by the remainder of Alexander F. Moffat's surviving immediate family. Included also is the report completed by Corporal G.M. Skirving of the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) who was sent from Dawson City, Yukon to the Porcupine and Peel rivers in search of information respecting the Moffat party; and a typed copy of the last letter Alexander (Roy) Moffat wrote, addressed to other members of his travelling party.

Willard Kuhlman fonds

The fonds consists of original photographs taken by Willard Kuhlman during the course of the joint U.S. and Canadian military exercise "Operation Eager Beaver" in the Kluane area between 1951 and 1952. The photographs document the construction of airstrips and buildings, Kluane Camp, Fort Beaver, and scenes of Whitehorse, Yukon. The fonds also includes postcards of Whitehorse with typewritten correspondence on the verso relating to military and camp life.

The fonds consists of photocopies of two hand-written letters sent from Whitehorse and Dawson City, by Will Childs, to his brother and sister, Mary. The letters are dated November 25, 1899 and June 14, 1900. He describes his experiences travelling to the Klondike, and in Dawson City, Yukon. He gives details of the cost of living in Dawson City and the tough life of a miner.

The fonds consists of photographs, textual material, newspapers, a variety of published items and two maps. The photographs in this fonds cover a time period of ca. 1959-1975 and were donated in three accessions. The first accession, 82/527, consists of 8,797 negatives. The second accession, 82/563, consists of 19,620 negatives and 11,044 of black and white prints. The photographs include a wide variety of views of newsworthy events in Whitehorse, and in the Yukon generally. Many of the major news items of this period are represented - such as visits by Pierre Trudeau and Governor-General Michener, the climbing of Mt. Kennedy by American Senator Robert Kennedy, the opening of the Skagway Road and Dempster Highway, the removal of the last shack on Whiskey Flats, and the restoration of the S.S. Klondike. As well, there are also numerous photographs of local events, activities, buildings, sports and people, including Whitehorse and other Yukon residents, personalities and politicians. A third accession, 82/419, consists of two black and white photographs of Patsy Henderson and his wife dressed in First Nations ceremonial costume in front of the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) railway station at Carcross. The newspapers include 187 bound copies plus loose issues of the Whitehorse Star from 1901 to present. The fonds also contains textual materials comprised of newspaper clippings, typescript and handwritten articles, correspondence and miscellaneous information that originally accompanied some of the photographs. There are two maps. One, copied by Department of Public Works in 1966 from a 1925 map, depicts the receding ice front at Tarr Inlet. The second map is a 1967 topographical survey map of Steele Glacier produced for the Yukon Alpine Centennial Expedition. Accession 2001/01 consists of eleven boxes of research files transferred to the Yukon Archives by Chuck Tobin, Local News reporter for the Whitehorse Star. This accession is unprocessed.

The fonds consists of account ledgers for the firm of Whitney and Pedlar, Whitehorse, Yukon, 1906-1924. The first ledger is accounts receivable, 1906-1911. The second ledger is accounts payable for 1912-1924. Both ledgers include an alphabetical index. The ledgers include accounts of Whitney and Pedlar branch stores, accounts with various banks and with individuals.

The fonds consists of corporate records, posters and photographs for the Whitehorse Drama Club in Yukon. The corporate records include the constitution dated 1964, minutes of meetings, financial statement from 1972, club ledger, play lists including notes and miscellaneous correspondence. The posters are from club productions between 1952 and 1990 with most of the posters dating to the 1950s and 1960s. The photographs are b&w and colour prints for the following productions: 1956 production of "Harvey"; 1979 production of Alice in "Through the Looking Glass"; 1980 production of "Catherine the Great"; 1981 production of "Midsummer's Night Dream" and "The Emperor's New Clothes"; 1981 production of "Zoo Story", "The Marriage Proposal" and "The Tiger"; 1982 production of "The Gazebo" and "Blithe Spirit"; 1983 production of "An Inspector Calls" and "Dick Whittington and His Cat" ; 1984 production of "The Importance of Being Ernest"; 1987 production of "Two and Two Makes Sex"; 1988 production of "The Land of Green Ginger". The pamphlets are theatre programs from eight productions.

Wilf and Dorothy Veysey fonds

The fonds consists of photographs copied from an album created by Dorothy and Wilf Veysey during 1937, when they lived in Whitehorse. The photographs document their life in the Yukon during that year, and include views of Whitehorse, numerous photographs of the Veyseys, people engaged in various outdoor activities such as skiing, camping, picnicking, fishing and hunting. Other images are of log cabins, houses, the interior of a house, dog sleds, the Yukon River, a motor car on rail tracks, airplanes, unidentified communities and a fox farm. There are also a number of images of sternwheelers and other vessels, and boat building.
