The fonds consists of a 1989 brochure of the proposed plant with a "process flow pictorial"; a 1990 Alberta Forestry, Lands and Wildlife brochure of programs and initiatives; AL-PAC pamphlets about the plant, the process and employment opportunites; AL-PAC Environmental Impact Assessment Review Board public hearing procedures and documents; curriculum vitae for 18 expert witnesses and advisors for the review board; and 1997, 1998 AL-PAC Research Inventory with maps and Annual Operating Plan. A videocassette was filmed in Oct. 1989 when Dr.Robert Dykes of Prince George, B.C. spoke on the health issues connected to pulp mills. The 1993 videocassette is AL-PAC Progress Report #3.

The fonds consists of photographs of: Athabasca & District Board of Trade sign near Westlock (1948), Nick Evasiuk, pier on Tawatinaw Creek (1950s), Bob, Colin and Vince Preece; Anton (Tony) and Kurt Schinkinger, the first store and its replacement store built in 1975, Valentine (Val) Breckenridge, Riverside Recreation Area sign, 1971 parade photo and the Steve Berezan family. Tony wrote an article entitled "Reflections of the old swimming hole" and an article about his time in the navy. The artifacts are a postal scale, two photographs framed with an article from the Athabasca Echo newspaper of Aug.25, 1982 regarding the family business, and a plaque commemorating the closing of Schinkinger's Mens Wear in Feb. 1992. 22.12: Fourteen photos recording the ceremony opening secondary highway 813 in September, 1989, "The Gleaner," 1938 Athabasca Public School yearbook, program from 1961 50th anniversary, program from 1967 Centennial play, program from 1971 60th anniversary.

The fonds consists of Vol.2, No.1, March 1966: Alberta Folklore and Local History Collection; A Project Study of Athabasca and District for a Planned Heavy Water Plant, 1966; Grade 3-6 teaching guides for Our Place in the Province; and library book #176 which is a 1970 U of A MA thesis: The Process of Rural Settlement in the Athabasca Area, Alberta by Donald Norman George Stone. The CD was recorded in 1979 by the band "The Gemtones," which included Nadine Kiselyk, Art Thomson, Frank Bubel, Duane Workman, and Moe Breckenridge.

The photographs include the 1992 Huron-Bruce Voyageurs, and photographs of town buildings. The artifacts include 6 metal dies used to create Athabasca Trade Dollars for the years 1978, 1979, 1981, 1982 and 1985. 10.55: membership lists from 1999 and 2010, and correspondence from 1999 and 2000.

Athabasca Echo fonds

The fonds consists of materials created by the Athabasca Echo newspaper between 1949 and 1957. The fonds consists of Christmas cards, cancelled cheques, cash receipt book, tax record book,employee time sheets, and petty cash book of the Athabasca Echo. The fonds also consists of 1101 photographs created between 1952 and 1972. There is a framed pen and ink sketch of each editor.

Athabasca Jubilee Celebration Committee fonds

The fonds consists of minutes and correspondence of the Jubilee Celebration Committee from 1960 to 1961; newspaper articles; a special 1 issue newspaper entitled "The Landing Trail Post"; a programme and audiotape reels (duplicated on two DVDs) of the play "The Athabasca Story" written by John Havard and produced Sept.4, 1961. The 16 mm film "Land of Athabasca" was part of the play. Two audiotape reels are excerpts from the sound track of the play and were broadcast on CKUA radio Aug.27, 1961. The film is credited to Havard-Bolch Productions and includes moving pictures of the Athabasca River, bridge and town from the air; street scenes, creamery, school bus; a pottery display with the sign "Brick and Tile by Northwest Ceramics Ltd. Edmonton, AB" made from Athabasca clay; Imperial Lumber building, planing mill and sawdust burner as well as loading lumber into a boxcar; the cenotaph, train station and water skiing at Baptiste Lake. A 1996 letter from Mrs. John Havard re: copying film.

The fonds consists of newspaper articles, magazine articles, e-mails between Conrad Biernacki and Marilyn Mol, financial information, a press release, bookmarks, the event program which contains historic information, and thank-you letters. The magazine articles, written by Conrad Biernacki, are in the May/June and July/August 2009 editions of Discovering Antiques edited by Jan Mather. The posters were designed by Jen Luckay, an employee of Athabasca University. The artifacts include bricks and brick pieces and a shard from a turned pot from Claude Thillett's Brickyards (1912-c1919). The potter was probably Ewald Walden.

Pottery Discovery Day was special event was held June 21, 2009 in Athabasca and celebrated the use of Athabasca's clay, in both pottery and brick form, from 1909 to the present. Athabasca Clay Products (ACP) 1964-1968, founded by Ed Polanski, was emphasized. Guest speakers included organizer Conrad Biernacki, Royal Ontario Museum; Cathy Roy, Royal Alberta Museum; Carrie-Ann Lunde, Alberta Museums Association; Marilyn Mol, Athabasca Archives; collectors Gene and Gail Sabo; founding potter of ACP Alfred Messerli of Switzerland; former employees Ed Pohranychny, Terry (Knittle) Rains, and Dorothy Nielsen; and Athabasca Pottery Club member, Rosie Guay.
