Vader-Grimm Family fonds

This fonds contains records related to the Grimm, Vader, and Scott families. The material is largely concerned with time spent in Rycroft but this fonds also contains records created in Nebraska, Spirit River, and Calgary. The records consist of approximately 1500 photographs and negatives depicting farm life, school classes, locations, and people; newspaper clippings, pamphlets; posters; 2 family histories; 2 undated and unlabeled photograph albums; account books; and certificates.

The fonds has been arranged into the following series: Vader Family (1800-1980), Grimm family (1800-1980), and Ora and Edith [Vader] Grimm (1908-2008).

The fonds consists textual records, photographs and sound recordings, divided into the following series: farm and family photographs, personal papers, and farm records. The material covers the family's experience on a family farm, beginning in Calgary with their filing on a homestead in the Puskwaskau area north of DeBolt, NE 13-75-26-W5. It follows their move to Grande Prairie in 1970 and then the move to the homestead in 1975. The fonds includes financial records and activity calendars from 1980-2001 and a scrapbook from 1988 when Norm ran for the NDP party in the federal election. The sound recordings contain Norm and Marg's memories of homesteading in the Puskwaskau area. There is also one reference book "Merchants of Grain" by Dan Morgan, which was removed from the records and added to the Reference Library at the Archives.

Gordon & Edna Moyer fonds

The fonds consists of records of Edna's Camrose Normal School "criticism of lesson" reports and other documents related to teacher training (1921-1958), a sample lesson plan (1922), two teaching certificates,(1923, 1958), superintendents' reports from the schools where she taught (1925-1926), correspondence from school authorities and from students' parents, (1923-1977), a biography by Gordon, the given by J.E. Birdsall in honour of Gordon, a speech given at his funeral and two issues of the Ford Farming magazine (Spring, Fall 1953), a Swanavon School opening program, a copy of a travel itinerary, her Christmas greetings letter (1989), and seven photographs related to her school history. Gordon's records include a Dept. of Agriculture letter asking him to serve as a director of the W.W. Albright Scholarship Fund, a news clipping showing a group of Canadians admiring his prize oat sample (1946-1953) and "The Book of Mom which Alice (Moyer) Lewis has written about growing up in Elmworth.

Wozniak family fonds

The fonds consists of a few personal papers belonging to Antoni and Maria Wozniak; the memoirs of Maria (Parachin) Wozniak written in Polish in 1958 and translated by her son, Matthew; Maria’s diary of a trip back to Poland in 1986; letters written home by the six Wozniak children; photographs of the family, the farm, and the community; stories written by Mathew about his life and memories; and a collection of 8 mm film taken by Mathew Wozniak during the 1960s and 70s.

The fonds consists of the original Hythe Headliner from October 15, 1973 to October 31, 1977; and the second incarnation of the paper from March 10, 1988 to March 13, 2014. The years are for the most part complete; a few edition numbers are missing but may have been mis-numbered or never printed. For 2013 only the first and last issues of the year are included.
