Banff Centre Indigenous Arts Program fonds

The fonds consists of records generated by the Indigenous Arts Program from 1996 to 2016, as well as records generated by the AFVAA from 1991 to 1999. Fonds consists of administrative and program files for the AFVAA, the Aboriginal Women's Voices program, the Indigenous Choreography and Dance Residency program, An Aboriginal Journey with Brecht...A Theatre Workshop, the Creation of New Works Residency program, Writing for Series Television: A Screenwriting Workshop for Aboriginal Storytellers, the Indigenous Writing Program, Diverse As This Land, Hi-Rez Storytelling, Re(Claim), and National Indigenous Peoples Days. Other file types include photographs, production books, scripts, music and lyrics, and sound and video recordings.

The fonds is divided into six series based on various projects reflected in the fonds. The material in the fonds includes sound recordings (produced by Loubet), video documentation, digital photos, software that contains the Cyber Kawachi project, a graphic score and promotional material.

Fonds consists of records generated by the Association of Canadian Women Composers (ACWC), including the Association’s formation and its subsequent activities. The bulk of the records concern the administration of the Association itself and address issues related to governance, financial management, and member recruitment. Other records concern the Association’s public activities, including sponsorship of concerts featuring works by Canadian women composers and other public initiatives intended to increase awareness of and provide support for Canadian women composers. Records include correspondence, financial records, minutes, publications, press releases, media clippings, membership records and other material.

Banff International String Quartet Competition fonds

Fonds consists of material related to the planning and administration of the Banff International String Quartet Competition. It includes administrative records, audio recordings (of quartet performances, events, and radio broadcasts of the competition), the scores of works commissioned to serve as the competition's imposed piece, promotional material (including programs, posters, and merchandise), photographs (of the performing quartets, jury members, and competition events), and video recordings (of performances, events, and interviews). The fonds is arranged into series for each iteration of the competition, as well as a series of general administrative material, which pertains to the competition as a whole.

The collection consists of records aquired by the Association of Canadian Women Composers archives. The materials, which include musical scores and sheet music, concert programs and flyers, media clippings, and sound recordings, were donated by ACWC members. They document the activities and contributions of women composers in Canada and elsewhere.
Records consist of two series: Composer Files containing materials that relate to a single composer subject, and Other Materials containing records that relate either to multiple composers or to the subject of women composers more generally.

The 1982 Canadian Everest Expedition Collection

The collection consists of a broad range of records and media generated throughout all stages of the 1982 Canadian Everest Expedition, from the advance promotional and logistical preparations in Canada and Nepal through to the realization of the expedition in Nepal, and post-trip presentations within Canada. These materials were primarily assembled by Jim Muir, whose Montreal-based company Programmed Communications Limited was in charge of organizing and maintaining the expedition’s photographs and slides, as well as developing presentations and other promotional activities.

The collection is divided into 6 series and two sous-fonds, with the arrangement reflecting the diversity of the types of materials accumulated, as well as the organization of Muir’s own administrative files. The collection includes Muir’s correspondence and administrative papers from the expedition, press clippings and selected publications related to the expedition, photographs and slides taken by expedition team members and other press affiliates in Canada, Nepal, and on other training climbs around the world, film and video (both raw footage shot in Nepal by expedition members, as well as news programs and promotional presentations), and a vast selection of audio material (both field recordings and Base Camp transmissions, as well as more-formally produced presentations and radio programs). One sous-fonds contains oral history interviews that archives practicum Abigail Sebaly has conducted with expedition team members and affiliates in 2018.
