Carlisle family fonds

The fonds consists of a family photograph album containing approximately 360 photos plus 14 loose photographs. A CD contains scans of the photographs, biographical notes, and a list of the photograph titles. A photocopy of the album pages accompanies the album. Another CD contains Dr. Murray Carlisle speaking, a recording of a church service celebrating his 56th wedding anniversary, and a recording of his son, Dr. James Carlisle talking about his father’s life. Also included is a booklet, “83 Years …A Life Well Lived and Still Going Strong”, a memoir of Dr. James Carlisle.

Halcourt Cemetery fonds

The fonds consists of a cemetery record book including the minutes from the Halcourt Church Board of Trustees meeting of April 24, 1922, appointing trustees Theodore Cleland, Thomas G. Cotton, William Dorin, Bertha Chambers, Thomas G. Chambers; and minutes from a meeting of June 10, 1946, at Halcourt where F. Brewer, B.O. Cleland, and Art Funnell discuss "the matter of the Municipality taking over the Halcourt Cemetery". Burials are recorded by date, or by family grouping. There is also a section containing names and payments for plots and remarks, and another section containing names of deceased, sex, age, date of death, date of burial, cause of death and officiating clergyman. Pages 148-152 records burials dated 1968-2009. Early pioneer family names appearing in the burial records include Funnell, Ingledew, McNaught, McEachern, Schenk, Cleland, Holmes, Churchman, Walker, and Booth. The last burial entry date recorded is in 2009. A newsclipping (undated) thanks Albert Hill, Larry Dahl, and Herman Kreiger for making wooden crosses to be used as markers, Fletcher Smith for the donation of lumber, and Bill Dahl and Peter McNaughton for setting the crosses in their places.

The fonds also contains two maps showing the locations of plots in the original Halcourt Cemetery and in the addition to the Cemetery (1954) with initials and names of plot occupants marked.

The fonds consists of records relating to the operation and activities of the DeBolt Beautification Society. The records include incorporation documents, annual reports, minutes, membership lists, grant records, tax records, two ledgers, financial records, correspondence, newsletters and events.
The records have been arranged by the Archivists by content and chronology into the various series. The Archivists imposed an over-all order while maintaining, as much as possible, the original order.
The records are divided into four series: Administrative Records, Financial Records, Correspondence, and Programs and Events.

The fonds consists of records created and received by the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie in the course of their operations and activities. Marion Hill fonds

The fonds consists of five photograph albums documenting the life of Marion Hill, including her childhood in Beaverlodge and White Rock, B.C.; her life as a young adult in Beaverlodge, White Rock and Victoria; her teaching career in Beaverlodge and Victoria; and her life as an Navy WREN from 1944-1946. The papers include a series of Grade 9 High School Entrance examinations in mathematics, science, health education, english language and literature, and general knowledge; and brochures from musical and dramatic events from 1975-1979 which were preserved by her daughter.

The collection consists of sound recordings relating to the history of the South Peace River Country of Alberta. These recordings were donated by various donors to South Peace Regional Archives after it was established in 2000 and are not associated with a fonds, or are recordings made by South Peace Regional Archives, particularly for special projects. The recordings range in date from 1960-2008.

The fonds consists of records relating to the operation and activities of the Peace Country Bison Association. The records include minutes, annual returns, membership lists, financial records, correspondence, events, a cookbook and bison research. There is also a VHS tape titled, "Last Great Buffalo Wagon Trek" which is a video of a covered wagon trip that took place in 2000.

The records have been arranged by the archivist by content and chronology into the various series and files.

The fonds consists of records relating to the business and activities of the Grande Prairie Women’s Institute, dating primarily from 1924 to 1999. These records include meeting minutes, membership lists, lists of officers and directors, financial records, meeting program booklets, a maternity waiting room register, scrapbooks of the branch’s history and activities, a guest book for the 60th Anniversary, and Alberta Women’s Institute history booklets .
